As a Northern Canadian there's nothing I want more for a friend in the bush then a Timber Wolf while carrying a Lee Enfield, a P35, 30-30 or an Browning A5. Of course I would shoot the occasional Partridge, Duck and a Deer or 2 in my Life.
I killed hundreds of Ground Hogs with a Cooyie 22Lr Semi while working on my Uncles Sheep Farm in Southern Ontario and probable a 100 Ducks with my Browning 16 A5 Guage Acier Special. The only reason I had access to guns because my Dad was a WWII RCAF Warrant Officer and he the Blue Eyes of a Hawk and could shoot a rifle and a Deep Seal Diver - Lots of stories there - I was Born in 48 - A real Baby Boomer.
Best to be armed in the bush as Wildlife Predators sense you have NO FEAR and they are curious providing you NEVER shoot at them and lean to Rabbit hunt with Wolves.
Believe me, I had a Pack of Wolves surround me on top of a mountain in the Cambrian shield in Mid March while roasting rabbits, which Wolves gave me for being part of the hunt, carrying a Browning 9MM P35 Parabellum or Torkarev 762x25 pistol which I have never had to use to kill wildlife.
There is really something wrong with understanding Gun Violence - Particularly in our in our Cities.
Just wish their was a better solution to keeping Americans Guns out of the hands of Youths in Canadian Cities rather then restricting gun ownership for Northern Canadians !
Granted if you own a gun you have to able to practice, be proficient and be safe with them by LAW.
Have you ever had a Fox, Wolf, Bear or a Moose as friend in the bush, I have. I do NOT like Water Mogassins, Copper Heads, Rattle Snakes or Snapping Turtles ;o)
Why can't I NOT LEGALLY carry a 30 Cal Pistol in the Northern Canadian Bush where as it seems every Gang Member in our Canadian Cities DO carry ILLEGALLY ?
