Telemetry my dear Watson

How useful is a digital gear indicator anyway? Most of us know whether we're in the right gear. Doesn't really matter what number it is.

Like Vince, I sometimes go for 6th gear, but it's not a problem I lose sleep over. Maybe a 5th gear indicator LED would fix that. Should be easy enough to rig up a switch on the rotary doohickey under the gear selector cover.

Cheers,
Cam

Its not a real priority for me.If I was living in a place where I could really use the bikes full potential maybe. These days I am usually a gear higher and using corner speed without much braking for fun times. Its rare for me to actually know what gear I am in till I run out going up the box or down unless I actually count them, and I hardly ever do that unless I am looking for something specific

The SV 650 Suzuki I bought (when I bought the Corsa from Liz) had a digital gear indicator fitted. It actually made sense on a revvy buzzbox (0ver 11,000 rpm) and 6 gears.
But I have been riding Laverda triples for 34 years so I guess I know which gear I am in.
