The way a lot of those Tigers were sooking and bawling after the win, you'd think they'd already won their Grand Final............
I'll be barracking for them but they might have cooked their own goose.  :-\

And I'll be stuck in Darwin with work. Hope they've got TVs up there.
I was at the semi final, Bulldogs v GWS in Sydney last year, and believe me, it didn't really matter whether they won the granny or not, the emotion from that semi win was incredible. The GF was just another game after that, win or lose.

Won't be an easy task for the Tiges, but the belief you get from a win like last nights can make a big difference. It will surely be one massive tussle from two super tough contenders who don't like to give in and don't mind getting hurt.

GO TIGERS!!!

Storm? Cows?.
To what do you refer Sir?
Storm - RL* side planted deep in enemy territory. As it's based in Melbourne all they have to do is be successful and will get plenty of support :o So, to do that they mainly plunder QLD for talent (chuck in a coupla kiwis) and are considered Qld's 4th side :D
Cows - pride of NQ - never say die and great effort to get the GF. Hard pressed to see beating this storm outfit :( but won't give up

*RL - Rugby League - Highest rating seasonal sport on Aus TV.

Now what about that funny game they play in the Southern states - looks like they're giving one of the comps lesser lights a go in a GF against some interloper from SA. Fancy that, has SA turned butch - poor old Donny Dunstan would be rolling in his grave........... :P

Not worried about it Hooksey, just don't get all the anger and abuse over a bit of light-hearted banter about a football game ???

Who gives a flying cunty fuck about the attendance figures, koilie Minogue was popular too,  but only to brainfucked morons.

I remember being in the bar of the hotel our company were in during a work commitment. All of the others were from Sydney or Qld. We had dinner in the bar, and watched the Swans and Doggies on the TV, and as a bit of fun put a few bucks on Swans to win.

Match was at Etihad, and we were in hotel opposite Southern Cross Station. After the match, my fellow workers  :o when the bar was inundated, to overflow by game gowers.

My colleagues couldn't believe their eyes, or ears ..... during the week everywhere we went; every bar, every TV, radio, every cab driver, and news papers was full of AFL.

The support for AFL is absolute in Victoria, Tassie an SA, with WA now infected too,  unless you've lived there, you just wouldn't understand.

Numbers at games has everything to do with it, look at the TV during an NRL match, the cameras are pointed at the ground, and when they show the crowd, it's always the same area on the arena. 100,000 supporters vs 20,000 is a statement of the following of the two codes ...... emagine if the AFL grounds could hold 150,000, reckon it would be full. The following for AFL is a machine.

As a kid, I remember driving two ours each way, just to go to the footy, and it was a regular occurrence.

Funny world; a bloke covered in tats and with a haircut from hell, somebody who would cause you to cross over to the other side of the road is favourite for the Brownlow.

:o And won it. The Brownlow is becoming a fashion show for the wives and girlfriends .......... not that I mind too much.

WA has a rich history of Australian rules football with the first official games played in 1885. Crowds to WAFL games used to be huge every weekend right up until the introduction of the AFL when the Eagles were formed.  We, and probably SA with the SANFL, still feel robbed by the AFL when the local competition seems to be snubbed when the history of the game gets put into the limelight on big occasions like the Brownlow. It is all very VFL centric, in fact the whole damn AFL is VFL biased.

For a start, the crows should be playing at home next weekend if the competition was truly national.

(scratch) So, you think it's fair that only 54,000 spectators are going to enjoy the GF at the Crows home ground, verses double that amount at The G?

:( I understand your angst of the demise of the WAFL, I too think it's a shame. The Eagles and Freeo are such a shit teams to replace it with (bolt)

There were more people at the WAFL grand final last weekend between Subiaco and the Dockers 2nds than at any NRL game that weekend.

And who is going to bother to build a stadium that would seat 100,00 fans if the AFL has done a deal to lock in grand finals at the MCG for the next 10 million years. On average weekends the G is only 1/4 to 1/3 full, it is only during finals and special days eg Anzac Day the thing is anywhere near full.

:D That's only cause WCE or Freeo are playing at The G those weekends ............. have you forgotten to take your happy pills?
Or is this a ramp up of how it's going to be when you blokes move away from being a State of Australia? Cripes, I hope you don't start testing 4000klm range missiles!

Dusty polled 11 BOG's (33 votes out of his total of 36).
Only 3 votes in the other half of the season. He is either BOG or goes missing.
Hope he goes missing next week, its a 50/50 chance.

Forty thousand at the SANFL GF on the weekend.
