The Aussie depository.....

A family tradition on GF day, is meat pies and chips while watching the TV

No children at home anymore, but pleased to know that they are continuing the tradition at there houses, going by the text chat line last night.

“Footy Pie” it is.

Guess the mexicans are getting over their hangovers after the pies big win.
Nail bitter but am happy that Collingwood won.

Now for the NRL finals I hope that the Broncos kick Penriths arse.
I still haven't got over '21 finals when Penrith beat the Bunny's.

Well, lick ya wounds again.

Brisbane footy can’t win a trick ATM.

Were there two Grand Finals over the weekend? ;)

I don’t watch much NRL, but looked at a bit on the tv. Made me laugh.

You can hardly hear players on the ground and even the miked ref isn’t all that audible unless there’s a dispute.

But as players tackle into each other there is sometimes an audible “thump”. I say sometimes, because it doesn’t always happen, almost like it only happens when contact is almost a given.

The thump sometimes happens out of
time 🙄

And if there are two tacklers there’s two, and sometimes three thumps. 😆

A quick side step sometimes gets its own thump too.

So to make the tv viewing exiting (added to the flames when a try is made) we have to listen to a badly timed thump at tackle.

Reminds me of the early days of radio cricket commentators tapping their pencil on the desk to broadcast the sound of something like a bat hitting the ball.

The rant is not at the game, or players, but at the broadcasters, who presume we are all stupidly gullible.

Well,,,,, I enjoy the game, as with any finals the two best teams of the season battle it out. Some times one team get creamed badly.
But as the weekend showed in the AFL and NRL both teams fought to the end.

And yes there was more than the AFL on the weekend, you just settle down and have a lami and a cuppa :coffee:.

I knew I’d see this happen, Superannuation changes will see taxes imposed on high value accounts. Once that happens with no or little backlash, those rotten cunts will want to get their grubby hands on a slice of everyones!

It’s a fucken outrage, that’s what it is!

Mine, what there is of it, will be coming out very soon, and put into bricks and mortar, and maybe a few ever increasing valued vehicles. Before it’s too late.

Yep, sweated my bollocks for weeks and months at sea; six hours on, six hours off (if you were lucky and not interrupted by defect rectification, emergencies or Action Stations) to earn a decent superannuation that you had to serve for at least twenty years to qualify for.
I am comfortably off in retirement and I earned it, will be seriously pissed off if some wanker tries to take it away.
With regards to NRL; when it comes to rugby I'm a Union man. Had to pick myself off the floor the first time I saw a modern NRL scrum and I'm with Chris. I'm sure they have somebody on the volume control to tweak up the noise whenever contact is made.

So a couple of kiwis have won your "Great Race" - again.

Never met SVG but I met Stanaway some years back. At Ruapuna setting up a bike and he was there about to have his first drive in an NZ V8 tourer.
Told him in passing to go where the money is as the single seaters he'd done well in up to then didn't pay well at all.
I knew a couple of the guys in the team he was testing with and had given them the usual windup about dropping oil.

Its not our great race anymore its just a great race with 2 types of American cars racing.

Still enjoy the racing and all the hype.

Great effort by SVG and Stanaway.

I watched ten minutes, boring as fruitbat shit.

When it was a great race, I’d be glued to the seat from 7:00am until the presentations.

As for our Kiwi brothers, good for them. If ya can’t beat ‘em join em: Katie Pie Bro 😉
