The Aussie depository.....

Yep, Happy Cook visited Botany Bay Day.  ::)

Cracking bottle of Rolf Binders 2010 "Malcolm" Shiraz to celebrate all those leaners getting Aus Day gongs. They never seem to go to the poor bastards that put in years of volunteer work making the lives of others better. Always seem to go to fuckers who have already been well rewarded for sometimes doing what they have been paid to do.

Couldn't agree more Davo; the greatest travesty was when the mob that won gold medals at the Olympics were awarded gongs. Given a medal for winning a medal! :o

... what about the date when Captain Cook finish his recently well-publicised circumcision of Australia - gotta love our current PMs lack of understanding of our history anything...

Anniversary of the First Fleet arrival in 1788.

And the earliest English settlement in Western Australia was Albany in 1826. The Swan River Colony (later to become Perth) in 1829.

As to boofhead and his Cook re-enactment perhaps he should just go the full monte and head straight for the Sandwich Islands.

And if fuckknuckle wants to celebrate anyone English at all for discovering Australia it should be William Dampier who landed in Shark Bay or nearby 70 years before Cook, ie Cook wasn't even born.

A quick history here :- http://www.abc.net.au/local/stories/2014/08/25/4073748.htm

I was talking to LJ a few years ago in the UK and he mentioned that in fact he maybe generations down from the Dampier that discovered the north west coast of Australia.
So maybe he is an Aussie after all. ;)

That makes sense.  William Dampier was a pirate.  :D
