The Aussie depository.....

What pub in The Snowys and what route about there. There isn't much we haven't done so I expect plenty of good suggestions.Mid week The Putty is fine, at the bottom of it you can link to Bells Line that crosses the mountain from there you can easily link into Oberon and the back way to Goulbourne, from there to The Snowys you stuck with The Monarow Hwy to Cooma. Midweek or the weekends you just have to play THE GAME. speed wise anywhere within 200ks of Sydney. As long as you stay mostly south of 20 over in 80 and 100 zones you can mumble apologies and mistakes and not get serious shit from Them, that does mean probably a fine and points though. My worry is the mobile cameras and thankfully they will have rood top signs back. Off the Major Hwys and towns and in more remote spots it's possible but rare.

I'd be adding the Mitta Mitta to Omeo or Falls route once over the Snowys. Once west of the Great Divide your options for fun roads reduces - but always look for secondary roads and at least you can fang a little.

You're onto it. Booked in Bright for a couple of days before Easter, then at leisure to Mt Gambier.

Just got to sort the south of Bathurst back roads to Bright.

Putty's in, will be a weekday.
Man that's going to be a great motorcycle adventure. If your heading to Perth via the s/coast Im in Walpole. Aways good for a beer🍺🏍
Yeah, after easter for sure. Only commitment is Dumbleyung 30/4 :D

Check out some of the roads heading south to Tumbarumba. There are some great backroads from the Bathurst area heading south. From Tumba head across to Talangatta then down through Mitta.

Ther New South guys will surely have a handle on the best routes to Tumba from Bathurst.

Knowing your other interests, heading SW of Tumut should perhaps include Rutherglen, Nagambie (Chateau Tahbilk), Heathcote, Great Western, Coonawarra.
Penola for sure on the way out. If The Snowy exit is north near Bright, then head West across Heathcote Maryborough Great Western. Like your thinking Sir. Initially going south but have to deal with Melbourne ClstrFk along the coast. Vino beckons.

that run from brisbane down the new england is boring-head down through beaudesert, mt lindsay ,kyogle ,on to grafton and take the grafton /armidale rd-fantastic ride

Very Jealous Dave👍👍
Worth noting that yesterday I saw a total of 10 mobile speed cameras on the backs of two semi’s heading for Sydney🙁🙁
Mostly white with a couple of blue and a silver one.
If I hadn’t had my wife on board I would definitely thought of taking one out in a sacrificial hit🤔

Bloody hell
🙄🙁🙁🙁

He likes his wine as he likes his bikes - big and powerful. So that counts out the Yarra. Rutherglen very much in spec. :D🍷🍷🍷
Well with all this quaffing..... there will have to be some good riding roads 😉 flat as a shit Carter’s hat rnd Rutherglen and Heathcote. Then again that maybe a good thing with a foggy head 😊

Saw a picture of one of the mobile speed camera cars with the new reinstated rooftop sign, at least I can stop panicking at never bloody bushwalkers smallish 4x4 parked up now. The sign is reasonably noticeable at least

Good tips for this trip in this thread. Last trip south of Sydney I rode up beside a mobile camera, a WTF moment. Stuck beside it for miles. Stopped for a tequila break.

WRT Vino, the good Dr knows my tastes have mellowed with age and testosterone depletion so suckin on a pino is no longer out of the equation. Florally Chinese brothel bouquet? bring it on.

I am a bit surprised we didnt get more suggestions from the NSW bunch re routs, I am a bit rout challenged west of the Snowys, I think Marks suggestion is called The Olimpic Way, and if so we did it a few years back. It had an odd surface polished by trucks. It would be a great time weather-wise to do it if this wet spell reduces.
