The future of Moto GP/new fuels

Does anyone on the Forum know what type of fuel they are planning to run in the IC-engined GP bikes before they go all-electric?https://www.motogp.com/en/videos/20...f-zero-carbon-fuels-is-ready-to-begin/403140?

All-electric GP, it simply does not sound right, haha, no wait I think the race has started I heard the starter's flag flutter. Future GP comments from spectators, "Man oh man those Hondas are quiet", "Yeah but those rapid rechargers for the Dukes are unbeatable". I think the race is over

Looking at the video - and what was not said - it looks like the non - fossil fuels will be plant and refuse derived. Thus likely to be ethanol or methanol based. What was not said was anything about an energy cap for race distance. Or an equivalent octane limit. This has been discussed before as a way of equating electric and IC power. Without it you're looking at the potential for more energy in a tankful than at present. Even given the higher consumption of meth/ethanol brews I'd reckon more HP available over a race distance.
We'll have to see who's got the best chemists. Should be fun.
I absolutely loved the 5 or 6 seasons of open fuel I was involved in here. Customer roadrace engines on nitro, my own on methanol based brews. Great fun. Then they banned it.

In the IOM the climate change team are talking about production of biofuel/diesel from kelp. So I guess that’s what the TT could be fuelled with in a few years time. 🤔

Sir Paul may need to re-write: With a little kelp from my friends.

I’m imagining a bunch of greenies picking up seaweed from the shoreline of the IOM, getting ready for a days racing.

Be assured that it won't be greenies but Royal Dutch, Texaco, and Total. The people who are bringing you electric vehicles.
The Saudis are heavily investing in kelp.

Probably should run everything on cannabis oil. Seems to do the trick for everything in my line of business so I can't see how it wouldn't be great for this. And the inhalation of the exhaust will make the racers far less aggressive.

A certain Speedway outfit team used to inhale such fumes before a race. I never quite worked out why they did that, they were always super fast and aggressive even after a toke or two.

Made my own biodiesel for 10 years, ran my landcruiser, others landcruisers and multiple boat engines on it, diesels will run on almost anything :)
used to cost about 25c a litre, only gave up cause I got sick of going and collecting the chip oil and it took up too much space in the garage.

Nothing like the smell of fish and chip oil in the morning but.... :ROFLMAO:
