The &^%$#(*& Royal(e) Wedding

Absolutely the last word until we return control of your  TV set back to you. My incredulity was so blatantly shaken by this insane cult of celebrity status that just yesterday two events occurred that trumped ANY wedding coverage event short of a repeat of 9-11. Ten or so students and faculty were murdered by a wacked-out teenager in Texas at their high school. In Cuba over 100 souls were killed in the crash of a B737. I watched one of our national news broadcasts and fully two thirds of the broadcast lead revolved around the wedding. The balance of the news provided ten minutes of shoddy amateurish coverage of the two preceding stories and everything else the dolt news editor/producer felt was newsworthy.

Well I enjoyed watching the wedding - I like Harry and his bride is the bomb..

Good night of TV.

I sat down with Mrs R and watched the highlights.

I have to say that as wedding venues go that one is picture perfect and whoever coordinated that lot was a bloody genius.
You can see the effort that went in to get things right.
The highlight for me was the bride and groom jumping in the E Type jag at the castle and off to the reception through some stunning scenery.

Unfortunately there were also a couple of tragic events which are all too familiar in our world.
It highlights to me as the years roll by that life is precious and we should value every day on this earth.

As for Eurovision? It is so bizarre that it has become compulsive viewing.
At least we now don't have to put up with the former Eastern Bloc countries voting for each other en masse and ruining the event. The UK still has zero chance of winning pretty much every year, especially with such awful songs.

They are still gobbing on about the effing thing over here on the tube, papers and online news. Who wore what, who smiled at who who gives a fuck FFS.
