So, I bought these Chinese-made 12V horns from Temu. They came as a pair, one Hi-tone and one Low-tone. The total cost was $8.06, including postage from a warehouse 60 miles from my house. They are loud, and they certainly have the hi-lo tone that all good Italian bikes from the 1970s used to have. Did I tell you they were loud? You cannot argue about the price, so I tried to order another pair, hang the expense. Now no longer available as a pair, but you can still buy them individually, which is what I did. No Trump tariffs because they are old stock in the warehouse, $8.66 delivered, longevity, we shall see.

For less than 20 bucks I'll give the horns a try, you are probably correct Chinese crap. I'm not praising Chinese products, however, my 2016 Mercedes E350 has the original battery, and it has never let me down. I'd owned the vehicle for more than 2 years before I found the battery located on the floor of the boot/trunk. As it turns out Mercedes fitted a Fiamm battery (Italian Company) that was made in China, more of the Global Economy touching our lives.

Get used to it - Chinese crap is rapidly becoming quality kit, just as Made in Japan went from a statement on throwaway rubbish to a symbol of excellence. Taiwan has long been a source of top-shelf kit and the mainland isn't far behind them. The Orange Man is only aiding and abetting that transition

The thing is: China will make your product at any quality level you want. If you want cheap throwaway crap they are glad to sell it to you. If you want high quality production, made from first class materials with intensive inspection and quality control, well, they will be glad to do that too.

It’s a well trodden path, first by Japan, then Korea and Taiwan and now by China and India. The addition of robotics to the mix makes things go even faster.

I bought some of those horns for my mutant 1200, they certainly are loud and I think I paid £5 or so. I reckon the flimsy straps will break first so I used some old voxbell straps.
Price inflation is out of control ha ha! nearly £7 now.
