Throw-over bags with Laverda logo

I have for sale this pair of black vinyl throw-over bags - complete with embossed Laverda logo  .

They?ve not been used.  I bought these from Malcolm Cox some time back, thinking to use them on the SF2 that I then had.  But in the end, I never did.

My SF2 being long gone, the photos show them hanging across the tank of my Corsa.  What this doesn?t show is that in the middle of the joining strap, there?s a circular cut out to make space for a fuel cap.  So, if you use them on a tank with a centrally positioned cap, there?s no need to take the panniers off the bike to refuel.

Alternatively, I guess you could put them across the pillion seat or a rack.

They?re pretty capacious:  I measure each one at 28cm x 28cm x 22cm.  The vinyl is thick enough to give some rigidity, but not so thick as to make them inflexible.  I expect they?ll be water tight.

So if interested, please feel free to make me an offer.

period accessory, I also have a pair of tote bags from the same source, one large, one small, but they are little used because as on the throw over bags the zip runs straight and up the middle, which I always found awkward, mine also have the zips straight down the middle, they would have been so much better to have a longer zip that went down both sides and across the front so as to make the opening into a flap, rather than a slit, which catches your hands badly, and on a cold day....... so much worse.

I bought mine from John Faulkner quite some time ago. He had a few sets of throw overs and tote bags left then. He doesn't do the internet.

I've had issues with leather paners is that they get soggy in the rain and anything you have in them gets wet - You spend lots of time treating them with Mink Oil or some leather water prof wax.

Fiberglass Paners are dry but hard to fit on a Breganzie (Espesially the 750) - Hence my Rack to mount a Samsonite Suite Case for Touring.

You can even seat a big ass Gal on that rack with a woopie cushion  ;o)

I've had Kriega soft luggage for years, it doesn't leak, need any maintenance, special oils or wax whatsoever, doesn't even need a rack and has fit everything from an aprilia tuono to a Morini 350 sport.
Brilliant kit.

think it's ace your using the bike as you do but that suitcase is pants.

I use "Cambridge" throw over soft bags and as Paul I put everything in big plastic shopping bags that are given away at designer or less clothing stores, Cost was ?35 about fifteen or maybe twenty years ago, still work well, a tank bag for me is a must though, the bike feels wrong without it, I use an Oxford bag that was brill, and the all round zip broke, I sent it back under the lifetime guarantee for replacement, but they binned it and sent me a new one, with a changed design (two short zips and a Velcro flap) that I was never very happy with, but it still goes today, I like the facility to unzip and expand it vertically when I need more space, very often its virtually empty. but I still attach it, the small side pockets hold chain lube, torch, bungee elastics, cloth and an oil filler aluminium thingy, it has shoulder straps (tucked away) so doubles as a back pack and a rear pocket which doubles as a bum bag, but still the zips/Velcro are not what I would choose.

The real end is, for tank bags, nothing, but nothing, beats a Harro

Except Harro doesn't appear to make one with a magnetic base. A feature I find very useful.

I have an Oxford magnetic tank bag that does the job very well. It also has a strap for security, but it doesn't need it. It's never even looked like coming un-stuck. I reckon it must be the model Clem used to have, with the all around zip. I agree with his assessment - It's brill.

I also have a strap-on bag that I use on bikes with non-magnetic tanks (no strap-on jokes please  :).

I think Clem is asking for trouble though. There's sure to be a compatibility issue between an Oxford tank bag and Cambridge panniers  . OK, I'll get my coat ...

I loved my 2 story Red Oxford magnetic tank bag, used for years and yep the zip broke. Couldn't be fixed so I went looking for another. Oxford changed their design and I ended up with a Chase Harper, less than half the magnets, ok but far from as good as the old Oxford. Just yesterday I cut the damaged zip off that joined the upper and lower bag on the old Oxford so I could use the small lower bag as a day trip bag. Holds a drink and a hat and will work well

Hey Vince. Take your tank bag to a shop that repairs leather goods. They should be able to sew a new zip in it for you.

I took it to Venus Repairs and they said no, the zip attachment is really close to solid piping and sandwiched by a few layers., Mine had 2 zips and velcro on the rear. At least the lower bag is still fine to use as a day bag. I dropped my Licra Kevlar riding pants off there today, the velcro that holds them together above the fly zip has died. She is improving this flap by adding a doubling down of this attachment. DOUBLING DOWN AGAIN. My gut adds some load to this and it needs reinforcing so the fly won't burst.
