It?s is with sadness that after a period of poor health, dad passed away earlier today. I was with him when he died and he was peaceful.

It makes me smile how dad lived his life exactly how he wanted to and how he got away with so much.

He?ll be remembered for winning the World TT-F2 Championship 4 times, 7 TT wins, 9 NW200 wins and 2 British Championships in his 22 year career.

I?d like to say thank you to his carers for taking such good care of him and all his fans and supporters.

I loved your Dad's Ducati 750 Desmo - My dream bike and he raced the TT - Only in my dreams - Rest in Peace Anthony.
 
 
Think it was Oulton Park in 76 i first saw your dad race absolutely brilliant topman and may i say he must have been as proud as punch to see your achievements as well.

More sad news during a sad time for many of us.
I am honoured to say I considered Tony a friend as well as a fellow racer. He always had time to stop and talk and Was a real down to earth type of guy. Gritty and determined, it?s not many people who would have overcome the terrible injuries he suffered in the crash at Vila Real, and get back on a race bike.
I shall miss meeting up with him and chatting about racing twins back in the ?80s.
 
Saw him race many times at the TT and he was always a crowd favourite.

RIP and say hello to the others from us all.

Thanks for posting that.  So good to be reminded what a real motorcycle should sound like, not those horrible wet fart 2-strokes!

I'll remember him as a real battler, and one of those select few who gamely kept the Ducati flag flying at a very difficult time.
 
Funeral is taking place on 15 April and limited to about a dozen people. Perhaps, when the current crisis is over there will be an opportunity for the rest of his friends and fans to pay their respects. Perhaps I can inquire about a ride out at next year?s TT, although I fear a few more guys like Tony will pass away before then.
