Triple frame

Question for the forum-
Should a triples frame have different bends in the front down tubes,
and should those down tubes and the motor be off set to the right in respect to the motor ?

If the left down tube looks a little bent then you need to straighten it quick else scrap the bike. :o

I'll give you $50 for it.. (Less delivery) :D

I still don't have my triple in hand, but I have heard this is indeed true, that the front of the frame is asymmetrical. Does anyone have a shot of a bare frame that shows this? Just curious, thought I'd ask.

Not only is the downtube kinked, it's welded at a different angle to the headstock.  Looks wierd, but that's the way they did it...

Lots of pics somewhere here, use the search function.

You think that left down tube on a 180 looks odd, the RGS frames look even weirder in this area. I remember when one of our mates ( ducati owner ) got a payout so he bought an RGS ( they were just released here in Aus at the time ) and had the undubious honour of being the first to send one down the road... at least that was according to Eade.
He had a hi speed off the road and into a tree on the Putty road... remember us lookin at the frame and thinking man you have really buggered this one.. as the kink was way more than our 180's had.

We eventually got the bike fixed,  he then sold it and reunited his love affair with Ducati's

About machines which has rubber mounts.

Both of my Lavs have rubber mounts between frame and engine and those are also prestressed. The engine is not straight to the frame, but the chain turns it straight every times accelerating hard. The prestress makes the rubbers harder to fit and it doesn't mean a bent frame.
