Triple Head cover gasket

How do you seal it, just the gasket or do you use some sealent like Silicone, Hylomar or others. I have used a very, very thin trace of Hylomar but do not know if it also would work just with the rubber gasket?

Andre,
Run a thin bead of Pattex in the cover to hold the new gasket, glue the gasket to the cover and let it dry for a few minutes. This will keep the gasket in the cover the next time you remove it. The gasket can be re-used about 3-4 times before it is compressed, loses its flexibility and starts weeping.

No need for any sealant on the head surface. Once it starts weeping, the gasket is im Arsch and should be replaced... ;)

Thanks Piet šŸ˜€

I always put a very thin coat of light oil onto the gasket after it is glued into the cover, just the merest smere, then on removal, the gasket does not stick to the head (and maybe rip) just as you would do with a spin on oil filter on your car, but less oil, much less.
