Triple sfc 1000 camshaft pillars?

I have adjusted the valve clearences the engine has been run, left to cool, rechecked clearance and found I need to make another adjustment, the question is, Can you remove the camshaft pillar mounts adjust clearances without having to de torque all the head bolts, Just camshaft related nuts?. I have not remove the head. The manual makes no clear distinction. I have already torqued the head correctly.

You will need to retorque the M9 and M8 nuts accordingly

I never released all nuts of the head when I adjusted the valve clearance, just those which hold the camshafts.

That's what I do, and only re-torque the camshaft bearing bolts. However, I have a bit of an oil weep from the head, so maybe there's a better way.

completely OK if you just adjust the valve clearance. But if you need to re-torque the head due to new gaskets f.e., all nuts should be re-torqued IMHO.

Hi Lothar, how could someone put a new gasket in place without loosening all nuts- and the complete head as well

Andre - I said RE-torquing, not innitial torquing...

You have had more than one engine rebuilt, I don't think I'll really have to explain, right?
