Triple starter motor current draw

G'day John, nice to see that your still alive and kicking. Hope all is well in your world. Motodd is undergoing a major rebuild, should be able to keep on your tail next time we hook up for a ride.

Cheers mate,
Rob

Hey Cam, that is his tackle. John modified it himself... many a fine tune played on an old fiddle  :) Nice to see you again John.

Hello Stefan,
The item you mention below,  being a switch, would be ok for use.  Would be concerned if it was operated under a fault current condition ie emergency. It may well operate as required or may suffer arc damage and weld the contacts, if that makes sense.  The figures in the link are static operational current limits ( 2500Amps seems well ambitious ),  not interrupting current specification, a big difference in DC circuits.  Others may well have a different view of course.

Regards from John.

Yeah I'd prefer circuit breaker as well. A 100A one is only $22 but the only 150A one I can find is $80! Will search around a bit more.

Drikko, this 25 euro breaker  e.g . is cabable of 2500 Amps/5 sec and 280 Amps steady: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Batterie-Trennschalter-Batterietrennschalter-12V-2500A-/220611187246?_trksid=p3284.m263&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%26otn%3D21%26pmod%3D220940318428%26ps%3D54
Seems to be used in boat equipment and is marked in english language, reckon being available in OZ, too.

Regards,
Stefan
