So , my SF2 that has been sort of SF3’d turned up yesterday. The idea , and only my initial idea , is to make this a full faired bike in British racing green , with a silver frame.
I’m making a mould of the fairing, or rather being taught by a genius pro mate of mine, we will make initially 3 fairings, 2 g do or my 750’s and one for another local mate. We have a bunch of spare carbon kicking about , and expired resin to use, so why not be a bit Gucci!
I will look for a unique tail/ seat unit for this project that suits the bike and the fairing , it will be nice if it’s not an SFC seat, which is the easy option , so please shout out and send me some photos of something you guys might think would suit, I would kinda like it to be loosely period for the age of the bike. I will stick with the rear drum brake , as I think they look beautiful. But for sure it won’t be brown! And the engine will get tickled. Hopefully by Red. In any case , this is my next project.

Try and make the fairing 2 piece, or at least fittable without needing to pass under the front wheel. That's one nightmare I won't repeat soon.
 
I've always liked the look of the 'Cico' fairing and the way it fits the triples 'just so'...even if it gets in the way for servicing! It'll be very interesting to see how it looks on your 750. I think the first bike I saw fitted with one was when I called in on the LCF Forza Italia rally in 1982 at St Avold on the way back from the factory. Slightly ironic that I hadn't seen anything at Cico's workshop - I'd called in to get a misfire sorted. Was some time later that the Cropredy Liberator appeared using 'his' bodywork and Ricky Capanni's inspired paintwork design :cool:
 
I also loved the look of the Cico fairing, but the closest I could get in Oz was the TT Montegi full fairing. I wasn't a fan of how low the bars needed to be so I cut the bottom of that fairing out and added approx 75mm to its bottom shape to raise the bars. It worked very well but the downside was you could hear engine noise a lot more and putting it on and off was a big job. BTW it was pretty ugly as well, the upper looked more BMW RS than Cico. It's been replaced by an SS Bevel fairing.

Funny you should mention the triple , my mates bike we are doing the third set for, has a 1200 that this will go on. We have to have a look at how best to do it, but it should look pretty cool.
 
I should add, once you make our mounts and offer up the fairing then you need a trained mouse to mark where the holes need drilling. That's really tricky to do.

That was my inspiration with the green and silver ... someone was a bit happy on that one with the drill on any flat surface they could get it onto. And that looks kind of cooler than stupid. But the colours just work. It’s when I found the fairing , I knew what I was going to do.

Custom work is all tricky, Vince! Marking holes for anything I make is a fine art. The cardboard templates I use are indispensable.

Very nice project, Todd. The bike actually looks very close to standard. Fairing will look very cool - my gripe with many fairings is that they force a very forward and low lean to the bars (clipons below top clamp) and simply raising the fairing to suit raised bars looks naff. Very personal choices, of course. My low clipons were fine when I was younger than 30!! These days I like fwd, but not to the extent that I won't like riding the bike over long distances or for extended periods.
 
The issue with marking the holes came from such a snug fit that you couldn't see or get a finger up behind the fairing to mark where to drill. And my trained mouse ran away.

I thought that I may have been there in 82 but it was 81. I was doing military service in 82.

And there was no Laverda Club de France in 1982, it was a structure called the Forza Italia.
I resurrected the Laverda Club de France in 1996.

If there is one thing I have learnt from PB2 it’s this 750 has an SFT in it
