Trying to buy a new helmet

Cant get one , they wont let you try them on any more , now that makes things tricky
 
The helmet company's website usually has sizing dimensions, head circumference, for fit. After buying a few over the years you soon learn if your an Arai or a Shoei shaped head. Its an expensive mistake if you fuck it up. Guess how I know

What do you do if you don't want an Arai or a Shoei?

There the top of the tree, and my first and second choice. Every other ones have felt poor on my soft and fluffy head.
 
I would add HJC to the 'good stuff' list (more Shoei shape than Aria). Worth trying on - when you can.
 
I?ve always sworn by Shoei and Arai but have tried Shark and AGV.

Worth noting that both Shoei and Arai have both changed their shapes over the years. I never used to be able wear an Arai in the 90s bout now their race helmets fit well and Shoei are less well suited.

I bought a Biltwell helmet a couple of years ago and I really rather like it?s retro look and very comfortable feel.

That Builtwell one looks like a Bellstar - although shape on the Arai  May have changed the Sizing has remained pretty consistent - still got a 57 , the wife?s is a new 57 and it fits me a treat And it?s an end of line Italian  flag special
 
Hi John, I use davida and they are great helmets but are also tight, dave finny the md is a great bloke and unlike most others is a biker and not just after a quick buck.
If you get In touch they'll sort you out I'm sure. The factory is in Birkenhead just by the tunnel entrance.

The Shoei and presumably Arai have different sized inserts I think, so presumably an minor sizing issues can be sorted that way .mentioned by Motolegends, though Helmet City where I  had bought said nowt. Always had Arai, but why dont they do a decent sun visor, which is just so useful on the Shoei and some others. I also went for the flip up type for the first time..very handy at times.
 
I have a hipster bell, actually its super comfortable , its matt black and un assuming, no graphics, just subtle

Highly recomended, built in slide up/down sun visor, easy swap visors with pinlock, very quiet. Really like the flip front, first flip front helmet i have owned, feels really solid when closed.

they now do a C4 Pro, have not tried one of those, my C3 is still good for a couple more years, maybe by then they wil have a C5/6 or whatever.

ps have read great reviews of Shark helmets, something different about their construction and impact absoprtion design apparently, but have not found a local supplier to try one on.... and until restirctions lift not likely to be trying anything on locally anyway.

Maybe there is something there that suits. 

I bought my bell helmet on line , but before I did I watched a lot of product videos on revzilla.  They give good insight to product sizing and fitment.

Bought a Kabuto Kamui a year or so ago; nice mid priced lid in bright yellow and black ( ;)). Wasn't expecting too much from it and thought the internal flip-down internal visor was a bit of a gimmick.
Have grown to really like the helmet; ventilation system works well and the flip visor is very effective when transiting from bright sunshine to shade.
Very pleased with the purchase.

I went to buy a 24 volt transformer from an electrical outlet during the week. I had to hold it with arm outstretched, due to the virus, while the guy looked at the specs with a magnifying glass. Once he got what I needed from the back of the shop, he handed the new one and the receipt to me. No fair.
