Hi all- seeking collective wisdom on re-torquing cylinder head. Green book sez to use a crowfoot, but pulling off the tank and looking down, that still looks like a barely doable and very hateful way of trying to do it. Is it feasible to remove most of the engine mounts and tip the motor forward for better access?

A 3/8" drive crows' foot does the trick nicely, 1/2" is far too clunky to fit.

Tipping the engine around the lower rear mounts can turn into a tedious affair, the upper RH mount where the crankcase edge slips under the frame lug can be a pita.

So- update on re-torquing my head: I followed the book and advice... and no bloody way. That 3/8 17mm crows foot and I danced every step and it was a no-go getting around the breather etc. So, I pulled out 4 engine mounts and tipped the motor with a jack, set the tools down, then went in to make dinner. Following morning, I opened up the forum with my morning coffee only to see a want ad for a replacement breather fitting. I didn't know the damn thing screws out! I had looked to see if it was removable, but with the grime in there it really just looks casted in! Anyhow, I was able to torque away, tip the motor back in place quite easily, and go for a ride.
