Twisted Monty

That's a very fine looking and probably sounding [1] exhaust system Keith. Very nice indeed.

The whole thing looks great.

[1] two hearing aids and I still can't hear a damned thing. PARDON? Bl**dy bikes!

Hi Keith, the Monty looks and sounds well, my race bike is nearing completion and will also be going to my Dyno man, the original lump was pretty shabby but still got up to around 50 ish on the original Dyno run, that was before I bought a lot of tricky stuff from Austen

Can I ask you where the fuel tank came from, I tried to find one of the Barca types with the clear strip but nobody would sell one individually, I found some similar versions for the 750's but again nobody would commit to saying that they would go on the Monty so I have held out for the standard tank for now

Hi Dave,

I can answer this one, the tank came from Laverda Corse as part of the Barcelona Kit, which I bought in full. As you can see there's quite a lot of the kit not currently fitted (the quality of some of the parts were questionable), but this will give me the opportunity to change the look of the bike from time to time.

Just to avoid confusion, the bike is mine and Keith has done the engine and some other fettling. Hopefully he will hand it over when I turn up tomorrow to collect it!

Fitz.

You might try Boba on this forum.
I know he makes similar units in fiberglass for some mo0dels.
Not sure about the 500.

just another 270 degree Twisted Monty, starting to get quite common  :D

nice crisp smooth engine, have some tuning to do on the old Dellorto's but they will get changed to Mikuni flatslides before the bike is finished

was good to have Scott, the owner, standing in the Redax shed when his freshly twisted Monty got cranked over and fired up for the first time.
it made the beer taste even better at sundown.  (bigthumb)

has been a couple of good shed days.
Joey was a big help, Scott is keen and hands-on, i dithered about,
& Red made it all happen.  8)

Got my twisted 500 running this week. I've lightened and re-phased the crank to 270 degrees, Ross pistons, made my own cams, Red done me an ignition trigger and I'm using an Ignitech box to light it up. ...  Keith

Hi All

Yes I am really pleased with the five hundred.
Many thanks Red, Maxene, Paul, Mark and Joey.
Really sounds awsome!
Just got the exhaust to be coated and paintwork done
