Two Drummer 750's sold at Mecum Las Vegas today

........ a little frustrated to find out after the fact that those bikes were on the block so close to me!
Me too thinking that first one was a steal but pleased to see that, even in the US, the twins are beginning to be appreciated by those with money to burn "invest".

That is incredibly sad - to see a totally stock SF in that condition torn apart and dumped as bits and pieces simply to make some dough. Pretty fukt in my opinion.

Frame # 2086 is lower than the bikes sold at Mecum.
Still a shame that the bike was broken for parts.

Gerald

Several years ago I bought some parts from that eBay breaker and back then was satisfied.
A couple of years ago they broke an RGS and I tried to buy several parts but it seems the seller thought my winning bids were too low and tried to hit me with outrageous shipping costs that I refused to pay.
I will not buy anything from them ever again.
In this case, I agree with Gerald that the engine number of the cases from the bike being broken is much lower and not likely to be either of the bikes recently sold at Mecum Las Vegas.
I hope the buyer joins (or perhaps is already part of?) our community.

Agreed, I see frame 8767, engine cases 12197 (I'd read it as 2197 before) and matching pair from 15297 - the orange GTF tank just posted ($650!) and the speedo seem to be absolute confirmation.

Very sad, wish I'd known in advance, perhaps I would have saved it.

There is more than one bike in his ads but for sure the parts in some ads are from the first Mecum bike. The prices are stupid anyway.

What this tells me is that people are asking far too much for parts - I'd prefer to either buy from decent sellers (like Wolfgang), make my own or just not own a Laverda than be fleeced by these chisellers. There have been SF parts advertised out of Spain on Ebay with insane prices for years - and they remain there unsold. Best result is for the sellers to be still stuck with them when fuel is no longer available!

Yet every time someone sells an item at inflated prices, the next same item is even higher.

I just bought a (non Laverda) NOS brake pedal, and paid a fucken fortune for it.
But, if you want it bad enough ....

I have bought used parts for my Laverda(s) for years, sometimes you know where there came from, and why, sometimes not, but usually its a bike that is no more, I have done this for 45 years, to stop it happening the only way is for EVERYONE to have never bought a used part.
