Tyre recommendations

When i last owned a 180 Triple Bridgestone BT45's were the tyre to go for, i tried several brands at the time including Pirelli and Michelin but the 45's offered by far the best road holding and handling. Are they still the ones to go for or has technology moved on and if so which tyres are generally recommended for a 77 Jota?

Thanks Phil.

Phil - if you use the search tool you'll find everything you need to know and have enough reading for today! . Tyres and oil keep some folk very exercised with their keyboard skills...

Short answer - BT45 still a good choice

Hi.
I use Conti Roadattack Cr for my Laverda Endurance racer, and Metzeler M9 RR for my trackdays racer.

Thanks for the replies, i did do a search on here and was overwhelmed with the different choices and peoples opinions ,but thanks for confirming my thoughts that the BT45/46 are still cutting the mustard!...what a brilliant ,friendly and informative forum.:D

Hi Phil,
I've just switched from BT45 to BT46 and I'm very happy with it.

Cheers,
Jo
Jo,

give us a ride report after 1500-2000 K's. Like to hear if the BT46 develops sabre tooth profile up front, and is just as finickey to tire pressure as the BT45. One of the reasons I switched to Michelin Pilot, which I like very much.

Regards
Gerald

I went to Pirelli's Sport Demons on my Slater Mirage for pretty much the same reasons...

Yep Pirellis for me to, but of course obviously a subjective topic.
I did try the Bt45's a number of years ago but personally didn't like them and quickly went back to the Sport Demons which I find a good all rounder.
Actually looks like I will need to put a couple of new ones on again soon (not enough left for a decent trip:cool:) and had thought about looking at something else, but, won't happen.

Hi Gerald,
they've done now 2,500 km, so far no cons. Their turning in is great, also they've a very transparent feedback. I check the pressure before every trip (have compressed air in the garage), with 2.3 bar (33 psi) front / 2.5 bar (36 psi) rear, they work just fine.

Cheers
Jo
