Unique leather Laverda jacket patch, with or without the leather jacket

Hello, all.

I posted this some time ago but didn't do anything about following up - I was dithering about another Laverda, but for the foreseeable future thats won't be part of the master plan.

Hi Alex. Nice patch, but your eBay listing doesn't say much about it. What's its size (diameter) and what is it made of (I presume some kind of leather)?

Sorry, I don't mean to be critical. Just making suggestions on how to improve your chances of selling.


PS: Just a note of caution:  Leather workers will sometimes glue panels together or use double-sided tape to hold them in place while they're being stitched. If that's the case, it may not be quite as easy to remove from the jacket as you think.

I found that out many years ago when trying to remove some sewn-on lettering from a set of second hand racing leathers (previous owner's name across the arse). After picking the stitching out, the damn lettering was still stuck with some kind of bomb-proof contact adhesive. I eventually got it all off, but wrecked the letters in the process. Fortunately, I didn't want to re-use the letters, just wanted the name gone. As it happened, I came off the bike in those leathers at the very next race meeting and tore the arse out of them. The whole panel had to be replaced. I may as well have not bothered peeling the name off. ::)
That was a long time ago, and those leathers no longer fit me. I guess they must have shrunk.

You may be able to feel whether your patch is stuck to the jacket or not by pulling the middle of the patch away from the underlying leather of the jacket.
 
Very good points - thank you.  Clearly, I have no future in advertising!

The patch does indeed remove in one piece - it does pull away from the jacket. 

Originally, I ordered a vented deerskin jacket with the patch, but found it too hot (the vents were useless), so then ordered the perforated leather jacket and asked them to move the patch from one to the other, which they did.  They put a 10" disk over where the patch had been on the deerskin jacket to cover up the needle holes; the perf jacket wouldn't have that issue.
