Update regarding purple wire, SFC1000 plus getting old=not good

Hi all,
Just to update you, ( I hate it when you don’t get to hear the end result of people’s questions,!)
I re soldered the purple wire to the resistor and it now runs outside of the sub loom behind the temp gauge on my SFC1000
I went for 60km ride today and bugger me, the temp actually does something,
After 20 odd years I though it would have more to say, than this, see attached image,
Lovely dry morning here in Cambridgeshire, outside temp 8-10 deg c maybe I’ll try without the resistor,

Anyway, seemed almost pleased with that, then fuck me, disaster!
I lost my balance and now have a nice crease in the tank, see second image,
So, what to do,???
Leave it as it is, to remind me what a cack handed 59yr old ‘DH’ I am, absolutely maddening every time I look at it ..... to say the least,
Or if if it can be done in a month or two, can anyone point me toward someone that might be able to do this?
UK : Cambridgeshire, Norfolk Suffolk, if at all possible, but anywhere really!
I appreciate all and any the help from you guys,
Stuart

Try C W Classics in Essex. Web site looks all cars but made brilliant job on a tank for me, trials tank with a few “usage” dents. Old fashioned panel beater so may need painting afterwards. Richard

Cheers, they are now on my list to call in the week,
I’m not worried about repainting, that was planned anyway, just want the dent out,
Heart rate and stress levels back to normal, had to go out to the bike to check, ‘did I really do that?’
Yep, I did...... balls..
there’s a local guy that restores Zeds, He might be able to help, one of his won kempton classic a couple of years ago,
But I’ll find out,
Stuart

Also try https://www.motorcycledentremoval.co.uk/ I bought a dented SF tank ,no cutting ,really excellent work.I think they can re paint too if required.

Paintless dent removal, those guys can do magic, and they're quick. I've had two two hail damaged cars done, one aluminum bodied and one steel, and I was absolutely amazed at the results, impossible to tell where the dents were and they did each car in less than a day.

As above, my RGS gauge rarely gets over 75, especially in 10 degree weather. Unless I’m idling in traffic, when it climbs frighteningly and starts to smell hot and run badly at close to the 125 redline.
So I guess the red line is in the right place 👍

And commiserations about your tank. These things happen but panelbeating a tank is easier than replacing some of the other unobtainable parts!
