Valve stem seals

I have a 1971 750sf, been doing work on the head and it doesn't have any valve stem seals, is this normal. ? I have bought a gasket set which comes with a set of seals but they are to small to fit on the head of the valve guides.
Ideas gratefully received . Thanks

Yes, quite normal, they were introduced at a later date.

Not really needed in a healthy motor.

True - my SF1 had none and never had an issue. Only replaced the guides (at about 200,000km) because i was fitting an SFC top end.

Thanks Guys, i was getting a bit concerned, i know a lot of old Brit bikes don`t have valve stem seals but i thought this Italian machine would have.
All good, that means i won`t have to strip all the valves out again, Phew.

Have you looked in the library of this forum?
There might be one there, or look on the Laverda Paradies site.

Will have a look at both those suggestions. Also I know it's possible to find manuals etc online, so I'll start looking.

I have difficulty in understanding how when a lot of things are available online, one can get to work on an old bike without researching the information.
