I have a set of SFC1K instruments on the Motodd. The Tach needs the needle replaced as it broke off. I like the period look of the white face gauges and would like to keep them instead of changing them with some Jap gauges. Also I went to alot of trouble making the mounting brackets that also act as the fairing mounts so replacing them would have to work with the original bracketry. And I definetly dont want to remake a mould for the carbon fascia.
Would it be feasible to gut the inners of the tach and replace it with an electronic set-up that can run off terminal 7 on the sache ign box. Probably should be talking to an instrument technician but thought Id ask first if anybody has done it.

You can do loads with instruments, Rob. I took the guts out of my ND gauges and fitted them into a new smaller 'canister' I made from poly pipe bits. Machined down the faces and had a white tach face printed and stuck that on. You can also probably glue the needle back on - my ND tacho needle fell off and that's what I'm hoping to do.

Maybe ping Jason, he does instruments for a living. John Wilson converted his 180 instruments internally to something called Stepper Motors whatever they are.
