VMCC 75th Anniversary Track Day - Cadwell Park

Last weekend the VMCC ran, as part of their celebrations of the 75th anniversary since the formation of the club, a very enjoyable track day at Cadwell.
It's only 30 odd years since I was last there, and the Montjuic race bike I took with me then wouldn't run properly so effectively it was my first opportunity to have a proper ride of the circuit. I am pleased to say the 500 I took with me this time, one of the 1980 IOM TT F2 race bikes, ran perfectly.
There were 4 other Laverdas out on track at various times, the Egli SFC that has been discussed recently on this forum, a SFC1000 (which got stuck in second gear), a 180 Jota and a 750SF. Several other owners brought their bikes along for the show.
Interestingly, the two guys that raced the Egli for BR-AM/Jim Berkheimer back in 1974, Peter Bates and Lyle Govan were also at the event. Unfortunately the bike didn't put up much of a show as the new owner, Colin Goode pulled in early from its first session due to finding a 'box full of neutrals' and issues with the brakes. Clearly the rebuild/set-up of the bike left something to be desired.
