Hi Guys, well after taking my Bosch starter motor off my 78 Jota and running it down to Robson and Francis Rewinds at Mitcham, it became apparent on opening the starter up that it needed a replacement  Bosch starter brush box (part number 0001160018) Complete mess inside and metal parts of the holder had been cut out? Why?? Who knows  :o

So, what I?m after is a Bosch brush box, or a complete starter motor for a 78 Jota. I appreciate that this is probably rarer than rocking horse poo!  ;)

Fingers crossed, Ive tried all the usual avenues to no avail.  ::)

I can sell you a complete Bosch starter that no longer works, I haven't looked inside to see what is wrong, it just got slower and slower until pitiful, then I swapped in another, feel free to come her and strip it before you commit to buy if that seems a good plan, but if you do not choose to buy, I would ask that you rebuild it before departing.

Thanks Clem, I’m awaiting the plate from Ernesto to arrive and I’m pretty sure that will do the trick. Will keep you in mind if mine is completely Kerput!

In 71 I bought a brand new 70 Breganzie 750 SF from a European Dealer going out of business for $1600. The Starter shredded to ashes in the 1st month due accidentally hitting the starter button while down shifting into 2nd at 7500 rpm due to a factory wiring issue. Always ground the Starter Relay through the Neutral Switch in them old bikes.

Cost me another $900 to have a Bosch starter shipped from the Breganzie factory in Italy to Canada - Never regretted it ;o)

Sold her 2 years ago to a Laverda Collector for just about the same amount of money it cost me to rider her 45 years which was about 4x's the cost of the original purchase + the God Damn starter.

PS: Since the Breganzie does not have a kick Starter you need a Bar Maid to give you a push start in the morning to get you off to work ;o)
