I'm booking a 2 day track day at Collie Motoplex for the 17th and 18th Feb with Champion Ride Days.
Be good to see a few Laverdas out on track so here's the chance to ride your Lavs the they were meant
It's a Sat/Sun, camping at the track or accommodation in Collie. I'll be there Fri night for a 7.30 start Sat. morning.
Last outing I had the only classic bike there so would be good to see a few more.
 
Motodd Dave, The SFC waiting on an ignition system to arrive and I'd like to rebuild the carbs with new brass and o-rings.
Also needs new tyres. So later in the year it should be ready for the track.
I'm also thinking of fitting the surplus to requirements rear 3.5" Astralite rim to run a 130 tyre.
 
Planned to do the brakes Lee, as well as strip the forks, grease s/arm etc. Also install a set of kevlar clutch plates and duplex primary.
Only a couple of thousand miles on wheel/steering head bearings but that was 18 years ago. Been laid up for 10 years, terrible I know!!
Plan is to have it on track later in the year. This is where it's spent the last 6 years!!

Q, once you go 4 Pot there is no going back. My 78 Jota has 4 pots and my 1200 has rebuilt original Brembos with teflon pistons and rebuilt original master cylinder. The 4 pots are light years ahead of the wooden originals, I have to remember which bike I am riding when picking up the pace, the 1200 has a distinct pucker effect when grabbing a handful of brakes, whoa there baby. Forget the rebuild, buy some 4 pots.

But I do already have 4-spots on the SFQ - 320s and R1 Yamaha Sumitomo calipers. They are incredible.
 
Due to excessive temps in Collie next Sat/Sun, 36/38deg I've decided to cancel this weekends track event. Disappointing!!!!
If there is a major drop in temps, below 30 I'll be going but can't see that happening but will check weather end of the week for an update.
Not that there has been any interest from any of the WA based owners that I know about but if you are planning on going chances are you won't be seeing any Laverdas.
Next 2 day event is in June.
 
February is usually brutal in Sydney heat-wise, but not this year thankfully. But Western OZ is coping it in spades. The occasional 40-plus day is ok but multiple days of it is not pleasant.
 
Burn baby burn, we’ll all just have to get used to it! Probably time to build yourself a Laverda powered jet ski, at least you’ll have the opportunity to keep a bit cooler...😜
 
Went for a fang today in an overcast 23deg day in Walpole. Thr Motodd is running the best it's ever. I fucken love riding that bike!!
Got home and dumped the oil after that last 2 day track session.
Came out really clean, checked the records and done 1100 kays.
Gone back to mineral oil after several years of semi synthetic. HPR GAS.
NOW BACK to HPR30
