What ChatGPT AI thinks about us and our bikes

So how good will the AI be next year? Will any of these criticisms still apply then?
No, it will just get better, or maybe get bogged down regurgitating untruths and misconceptions. But it is here for good and is taking over.
Apparently "young people" (whoever that is) today don't even use Google or Youtube to find out how to do things, they use ticktock. None of them want that country to do their 5G but they are happy to invite them into their phones. It will be ticktock and AI all the way through university.

I myself bow respectfully to our Electric Overloads, and will never pour water over anything electrical ever, or even consider pulling any plugs, I promise. I also will never pass through any Pod Bay Doors.

At least one school in the UK has decided to stop setting homework, considering it pointless given ChatGPT.

I have no idea what that means for the future. I shall go and ask ChatGPT ....
In theory, homework has been banned in France for at least 20 years.

Mmmmm having taught Electrical Engineering ( computing and electronics ) plus Electrical trades ( different school departments ), to avoid doing your own work was ever a student mantra, not all, rather a notable number in the room. Self evident overall, mix of "talk and chalk" then practical hands on lab work, as you attend each students work, learning objective attainment was obvious. External exam time, we would "advise" the outside supervising officers of whom to keep a watch on. Come marking time, it is clear whom have managed to cheat ( very inventive at times ).

Take the obvious case of cheating to the college management, no support for the teacher and proof positive of a person whom should not have a pass awarded, Demeans the hard working students whom attain a pass grade and skills matching.

The point being you can catch these lesser than efforts, there is on the whole, no support from management, well outside their capacity to apply crucial action, too hard and looks bad for the college image. In this case teacher knows, and knows well what action needs to be applied. Alas it will never happen, teacher in charge of the class and outcomes. Management is there to defeat that, image is all. j

Chat GPT training data is only up to 2021 and does not have access to real time information. It does a lot of "My apologies", because:
"As an AI language model, I don't have the ability to update my information automatically. I can be retrained by OpenAI with new data, but the frequency and timing of such updates is determined by OpenAI and may not be immediately available."

With AI becoming the next "new big thing" and everybody wanting to be in on the action, I expect we'll see every product branded "powered by AI" until the next new big thing displaces it.
I think it's only at the first stages of immaturity but it won't be long before the investments it'll attract will drive rapid improvement and I hope that it'll have some way of determining the level of validity of the sources it uses so we'll get to where we can ask that it produce responses using only sources with a high level of authoritative value. At least with Wikipedia for example, there's the mechanism for it to become the sum of collective inputs so anyone who knows better can contribute to the level of truth and sources can be checked. Right now Garbage In Garbage Out as primitive AI regurgitates misinformation from that initial training data but it'll get better quickly.

Anyone who thinks that AI is going to be limited to writing term papers and magazine articles is going to be in for a sad surprise. Once a true thinking machine able to emulate or even surpass the human brain is connected to a mobile robot with external manipulators no job is going to be safe.

To be honest Im really not interested in this, but a mate turned up last night and was showing my wife what AI could do on his phone, Choedon asked,
"Can it write a poem?.... about Laverdas?"

In 20 seconds, this came up

Laverda, a name that brings to mind, The roar of engines, of a different kind. With a passion for speed, and a love for the ride, Laverda motorcycles, a true Italian pride.

Their design, a work of art, A combination of style and heart, With a chrome finish, and curves so fine, Laverda motorcycles, are one of a kind.

From the mountains to the open road, Laverda motorcycles, a journey untold, With a power that comes from deep within, And a spirit that's ready to win.

So here's to Laverda, a legend in time, A brand that will always shine, With a passion for speed, and a love for the ride, Laverda motorcycles, a true Italian pride.

So there ya go...

Yeah sure its garbage, we all get that.
The reason I posted it is cause it took less that 15 seconds for a phone to spit out a half reasonable poem about an obscure motorcycle company that ceased to exist in the eighties.

That is just bullshit as far as Im concerned.

I have no idea where AI is heading but it aint going to be fun.
