What design of Foot Rest do you like for Sport Riding ?

Laverda SF

1st of all remember, I was 5'11" at 138 lbs and never went over 144lbs before I was 60 and my favorite ride was a Breganzie Laverda 750SF0 1970 up until I sold her 3 years ago because I realized I could not handle that thoroughbred any more.

Getting back to Foot Pegs ;o)

Because of my stature, I preferred say at least a grade 8, 9/16th's bolt with a quality Hydraulic Hose fitted over it.

That way I could feel everything my ride was doing, didn't slip off and the peg has the strength which I can trust.

PS: Other then most of the time my feet where on rear rear sets, I always installed the center pegs because you never knew when you needed to apply all your energy into the center of your bike.

I used polypropylene  (25or30mm diameter) for my racing bikes - doesn't cause damage on that unexpected trip "Down the road", cheap, self "Nylocking", and non slip with grooves cut into them. Also prefer the "RGS" type gear/brake lever plastic toe levers as they ,once again, don't cause damage when grounded or change gear for you unexpectedly. - Regards - Phil

looks like a ribbed Dildo, and I don't want to know what the brown stain is..... :D

I rode Laverdas for 30 plus years with the standard/adjustable footpeg set up before finally giving a set of Laverda rearsets a try .  I did not like them, I have always been a rider who likes to move around on the triple, put weight in the pegs, and stand on them if I need to. That does not happen with rear sets not for me anyway. Impossible for me to use rearsets post-knee-replacement. Besides those solidly mounted rubber cover pegs serve as excellent crash-bars, just saying

An interesting angle to have scraped away the gear pedal, Phil. Good idea the nylon, I have spare aluminium pegs in my racing kit.
Been "down the road " several times on the SF - only had to straighten slightly the footrest plates once or twice - the polypropylene footrests work out at about ?1 each. I have no spare Rgs gear toe pieces - but can use a smaller version of the footrest set-up too. - Regards - Phil

Same for me, forty-four years in. I've got a couple of pairs of rearsets that I've never got round to fitting. Mine has the gubbins for the left-hand (wrong) gearchange, which I'd have to grind off to fit them. I've ridden a few with rearsets and find my original factory set-up more comfortable and secure.

You wouldn't be interested in selling a set would you?
Cheers
