What is the size of the woodruff key that holds the ignition spinner on a series 2 Jota?

Don't seem to have the woodruff key but guess it's a standard engineering 'thing' rather than being a Laverda part. If someone could tell me what to fetch from ebay I'd be most grateful.
Nick :-)

Hmmm for you maybe :-) Far easier for me to just buy one off ebay or somesuch! There must be a formula to calculate what the woodruff key would be?

Formula? It's not that complicated.

As far as I recall it's just a piece of square section key steel (as opposed to a Woodruff key that's half-moon shaped). I don't remember the size, but you can measure the width of the slot and buy suitable sized key steel on ebay. It'll probably come in a 150mm or 300mm length, so you'll need a vice, hacksaw and file.

Alternatively, contact Wolfgang (or Andy Wagner, Red, Keith ...) and buy the key.

Just pulled the one out of the Corsa to put you all out of your misery... :D

Width - 2.97 (ie 3mm key, not 1/8")
Chord length - ~9.5
Chord Height - ~3.67

According to me that comes out at a diameter of 9.8, so could assume it is a nominal 3mm wide x 10mm dia woodruff slot, with a ~3.7 height key. Take all that to a decent bearing shop and they should be able to sort you, alternatively ebay:

New Metric Woodruff Key. 3mm x 3.7mm. Carbon Steel. M3x3.7mm

Thanks Steve. I did actually read that, but many people use Woodruff as a generic term for any type of shaft key, not just the half moon shape.
I wrongly assumed Nick was one of those uneducated knuckle-dragging inbred mouth breathers who didn't know any better. Sorry Nick.
