Wheels & Frame

A quick question, are the frame and wheels on my '79 supposed to be the same colour silver? Ral 9006 Weissaluminium Lechler.

Dont think so Gazz but other more qualified people will possibly confirm that statement.

Taken from Laverdamania:

Jota: frame/wheels 1000 Jota RAL 9006 weis aluminium (Lechler), or Sikkens 2K Coarse Metallic 333CS 777 or BMW Polaris Silver

So, yes the same colour was used.

I'm with you Pat, I'll be blown down too.... I always thought the wheels where slightlty darker than the frame. So much so I would have bet a beer on it!

OK, that's one beer I've saved.

That would most likely be the ingress of dirt

Chisk has to get his wheels painted a slightly dirty colour so they at least LOOK used.......

I?ve also been on a colour quest, as I m in the process of redoing a Jota frame and wheels.

I researched Laverdamania and previous Laverdaforum posts and compared the suggestions to the shades of silver and the metallic flake size of the colours of the existing frame and wheels.    This is what I'll be using.

Frame:   Fiat/Lancia 647F Grigio Steel
An earlier forum post, http://www.laverdaforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=50627.0, specified Fiat/Lancia 629 Grigio Steel as an exact frame match.    The paint supplier I'm using lists various Fiat Grigio Steels, but not 629.  I'll be using the 647, which is also a very good match.    Definitely not RAL 9006, which is quite a different to the original frame colour and metallic grain.

Wheels:  RAL 9006

Oh, and the frame and wheels were painted the same silver, this combination is just Tom's choice.
