I'd suggest A65-A6-M6-A7 Selkirk-A707-A72-A725-A726 Paisley as an indirect but scenic ride with only a little Motorway drone.

Aww, makes me homesick - I lived in Stokesley as a kid, up the West End, just beyond the White Swan. Now in Sydney, Australia since '85, but get back to Yorkshire regularly, most recently a couple of years ago for a visit, and to scatter ashes up on the Wainstones.
