Which Headlight bulb ?

There is currently an RGS headlight and bracket on Ebay.

At least it looks the auction finishes at a better time for us Aussies.. 8.44 am way better than 5.00 where most UK sellers seem to sit their auctions

Or you might want to try a Fiat dealer as the same as 126/127...

Yeah I tried the fiat spares places here in OZ and they all just laughed.

Have asked the seller which side of the road it's designed for. S/he may have been through the same issue :)

Really they just laughed ? now you have me on a mission... when I get back to work next week. I kinda sorta work for the importer... here in OZ... well the importer for Fiat also is importer of other brands.. but I know the Fiat guys.
Am sure you will find the EBAY seller good to deal with and the packaging is very good.. I have bought a few things for the Corsa and RGS including fairing tank and screen etc.. and no damage at all..

Also this on Ebay UK http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Moto-Guzzi-headlamp-/320823011407?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item4ab28aa84f#ht_500wt_1170

If it is new and for the GB market should have the reflector the right way round

Yeah I saw that too, I have searches going for everything but RGS headlights!! DUH.

The Guzzi one is the wrong model unfortunately, needs to be a LM3 I believe although could be wrong. But you can see the glass sticks out a lot further at the bottom of that Guzzi one.

From what I have read the rectangular light was the same from the LM II to the ? VII with the only difference being the USA spec bikes which had sealed beams and the lens protruded further from the fairing. So if it is a light bulb jobby it possibly will be OK.

According to these guys its the LM1/2 and the V35/50/65 and SFC triple. The one in mine definitely doesn't have the protruding bottom lip, unlike the idiot I work for.....

I've asked them if they can get RHD ones. I'm not in a rush really.

Gotta love experts on Ebay.  ::)

The Le Mans I had a round headlight. Rectangular lights were introduced with the Le Mans II and continued with Le Mans III, IV and 1000. As per my earlier post the Yanks had to have a sealed beam unit to fit with their bylaws and that was fatter and protruded, for other countries they were all the same apart from the reflector directionality.

Stein-Dinse has them new at 57 Euro, use an H4 bulb.

the monza is also the same as the LM3/RGS

In Oz ( well WA as I don't frequent stores on your side) they are available from Thiunderbikes http://thunderbikes.com.au/parts-a-accessories?page=shop.browse&category_id=22 but he has no price on the net.

The Stein-Dinse light was in their Europe catalogue

Had a chat to Thunderbike, although I'm more interested in Michael Clarke tearing the injuns bowling apart at the moment! 247 not out Woohoo!!

The ones they have are european as well ie LHD, they reckon you can't get RHD ones anywhere and only supply LHD ones now to Guzzi owners in OZ. So the RGS one is my only hope I suspect. He said they scoured the fiat wreckers here and same result!

Might have to sneakily swap mine for the one in yours when you aren't looking one day....long ride to do that though  :(

Come to think of it I should swap mine for Levo's, he's as blind as a bat anyway, can't even see a cow in front of him without falling off, headlights are wasted on him :)

Well at last I managed to get in the garage and check out starter motor . I by-passed the relay put 12V direct and still have a very slow turning engine noticed the positive terminal connection glowed red when I touched it to the battery terminal  !! What can I do next
Thanks

Means you have an extremely high current draw from the starter, time to tear it apart and give it a good clean and lube, perhaps new brushes as well!  If that doesn't help, it's knackered...

That's correct and they still give out way more light than a 100W halogen so it's easier on the charging system too. I usually choose the 4300k ones as it is less blue than the 6000 ones, being illegal I don't want to attract attention.

Am still looking for a right hand drive lense for the RGS BTW.

Now that I've got a RHD drive headlight for the RGS I fitted the Philips 100% more light bulbs from these guys in OZ. They are an awesome bulb without any extra power drain from standard so are also fully legal.

The new headlight adjusts properly too, so I can see now!!

On the look out for a spare for my RGS, what are the chances of finding one in New Zealand....... rocking horse manure comes to mind
Drikko, where did you end up getting the RHD headlight from?

Henry, could you send me a RHD unit with the fairing extensions  ;) :D :D :P :-*.................................
