Wider handlebars?

I've been riding 70's British bikes a bit lately (sorry), and I now really notice how narrow the clip-on bars on my SFC1000 are after that.

Any suggestions on options to get a wider clip-on (and maybe higher, installed in top of the triple clamp rather than under)? Would help my aging back, shoulders, arms...

Hi Andre, I have mine installed above the triple clamp since years. They are Telefix ones in 41,7mm. You could turn the mounting ring potentially the other way around or simply turn it more than I did to get it more to the outside. I find them OK still.

currently they are adjusted and mounted to 64cm rubber end to rubber end. If you mount them more straight and not that angled, mount them in front of the fork tubes instead of behind like I did, they can go up to 70cm easily I would assume, maybe even more than that. You could also mount them not hanging below the mount like I did but above, which would raise the seating position to more upwards, too.

A brother SFC1000 owner gave me a set of Tommaselli clip ons. He cracked a clamp on these so located a set off a GSX something Suzuki which he’s happy with.
I plan to get billet clamps made. Doubt there will be replacement Tommaselli clamps available.
They seem nicely wider than the original bars.
And I hope to fit them above top triple clamp rather than under top one.
 
My SFC 1000 came with non adjustable Tommaselli clip-ons from the factory, which have never been replaced.

The width on these seems OK to me but the left side has greater forward offset from the fork tube than the right side which almost touches the upper yoke/triple clamp, whereas there is a 3 or 4-mm gap on the left side 🤣 If you remove them from the bike you can see the angle on the weldment is different. Anybody else seen anything similar or have a comment?

Check out the LSL range of clip on’s for your sfc1000. They come in 41mm so you just need your pet machinist to pen them up to 41.7 and away you go😎 Can be mounted on top of the clamp if so desired.
