Never mind all the famous superstars of Jota being there, so was Scrumpy!! Great to see him.
Ged Shorten came on his 1200 with his 80 odd year old dad on a 500, except when he got there his dad had disappeared en route so it was out into the monsoon to look for him.
At that point I left so I hope it all came good.
RobJotas bike looked mean as anything. I think it was his gold bike anyway.
Met the buyer of the crusty silver Jota recently for sale on ebay, he was on a really nice silver Jota so now he has two of them.
It's the sound that gets me, those 180's are addictive.

As I told you earlier today, thanks for your selfless act in carrying your waterproofs for the benefit of the rest of us.. Subsequently, as predicted, i had no rain riding to the meet and glorious weather on the way home, no waterproofs needed. I hope your ride home was as nice. Great day today.
 
Yes, a belting day, Steve.
The magic waterproofs worked as before, on last year's Breganze Trip: giving me a dry ride there and dry back, as far as the M25.
Once inside that, I had to endure a downpour for less than 500 metres.
On the far side the moisture in my leathers gently evaporated and I was fully dry before I got home.

Jan's GTF has been a gradually larger collection of the right parts to complete the stuff in boxes for, maybe, 25 yrs. Internally is an S, with the optics of the GT. The best of GT, S and SF.

Friday evening there was a knocking on my door. I wasn't expect a delivery... I open the door, it's my grand amicale, Jan! What a pleasant surprise. 12 - 14 years since I last visited him in Oss. Out of 'comms' for 10+ yrs :o Priceless filling in of the salient of where our live's have changed over the time.

My first trip to Italia was on my Jota in '96. It was built on a student budget. Charging and ignition related issues led to a routine down through Germany & Austria. Pay money in the morning to "fix' the problem, ride as far as the "fix" lasts in afternoon... Rinse and repeat. I bought jump leads at the Brenner pass. I was as much a wreck as the Jota when we finally arrived, near midnight, at the Rifugia Bellavista da Maurizio, Pompone. I was the only Inglesse. Jan took me under his wing and looked after me. Took me to Oro's, he sorted my troubles over a day or two; including replacing the dangerously cracked rear disc, I was shocked when he showed me, frightening.
The start of our great friendship.

One of the highlights of the day for me was seeing the two ladies arriving and then leaving later on the Monty and a 750,something about it said it all,am I right in thinking the lady on the Monty was Benny?.......I heard her friend say it was the first time she had ridden the 750 but she looked right at home on it and I doubt if I would like to come up against her on the twisties! :cool: great stuff and well done to the pair of you.
