Hi All,
Would some one be kind enough to point me in the right direction on laverdapedia for converting mag to wire wheels. I know there's a topic on there about it but for the life of me i cant find it. Thank you.

Why would you want wire wheels?  Heavier and more expensive than GSXR1100 wheels and no option to run tubeless radials.

I love the wire wheels i am going to advertise a 3c rear spoked one with a larger diameter spindle a wide rim and stainless spokes as a swap for a standard one if anyone has a good one to swap

Hello Gents

Before I try and make some measurements

Does anyone have the dimensions for the spacers required to fit front and rear SFC 1000 spoked hubs to a 78 Jota

Rear using a carrier of 10mm plate for a right hand brake caliper mounted upside down right hand rear spacer is as stock .

Front ??

Regards
Tetley

You could probably use same argument about the entire bike! :D :D :D The only rational argument that can be used to justify running a 30 year old motorbike is that we like the way they look... If common sense or performance was the main criteria we'd all be running R6s, 'blades,SV650s, GS's or whatever. :D

I have suffered from common sense for long enough ,Gixer 750, R1 ,Fireblade, Firestorm etc. Look and sound and involvement are now my criteria. but to put this one to bed, i no longer need wire wheel info as jenny will be wearing something even better. Cheers. Mark

Actually this time round, i think it is great.Going to use the time in the garage with Jenny and introduce my 10 month old granddaughter to the delights of spanners. Then I'm going to eat as much as i can at Christmas. Bloody brilliant.

Mark if your missus said she was going to get some asdalights for christmas you may have to start looking again. :D

I'm surprised you're so well sorted with the rear wheel - that was the one that gave me trouble - resulting in my abandoning the project (SFC 1000 wheels on a '79 Marzo forked Mirage).

Front-wise (assuming you''re on Marzos) I recall the offset of the discs from the hub needs to be increased by about 8mm (don't take this measurement as accurate, it's just a guideline). So it's new discs and a friendly disc brake supplier.

I sold the bike, then sold the wheels. But I recall being told that the buyer of the wheels (someone in Scotland) had managed to complete the job.

I can chase the contacts if you get really stuck.

I also know of someone else who runs a Jota with spoked wheels, including rear disc, but I think these are SFC750 hubs.
