wire wheel conversion

I used a GS250 rear hub (it was sold to me as one anyway) - it looks a bit SFC750ish and can easily be adapted to fit a Laverda twin or triple. Think the 750 hub is the same? I did get a BSA/Triumph front hub from the early seventies that looks like it would do the job - both were ?5 each at an autojumble a while ago! - HTh - Phil

Hi Phil

"can be easily adapted to fit".... hmmmm, now how about us ordinary mortals? :D

hi
a cheap source of spoked wheels could be the Honda cb250rs as they came with nice flanged rims as standard.don't know if they would be man enough though.fine for a smaller cafe racer type special though.

Unlikely. Twice the weight (or more).
3 times the power (or more).
Why fart about with needless risk?

Didn't all the old small GS and GT Suzis have drum brakes in the back? If you're going to use a drum brake why not use a Laverda hub and lace it to whatever rim you choose, they pop up on fleabay now and again. I've seen front disc brake wheels from Guzzis adapted to Laverdas, they should be available at a reasonable cost.
