wiring

I have the schematic for 72 Sf. I see the On Off for the starter drop key as I call it on the Bosch headlamp E & F. Ok all the other wiring to that connection is not where E F is on the schematic. I'm looking for all the wiring connections on the scheme for that key switch & don't see it. where? In other words I don't see anything in the scheme that is that initial switch (or whatever its called) for that Bosch Headlamp plate under the key. Looking @ the wiring not exactly sure where everything goes to the headlight. I have 3 wires going into the light connector. 2 are disconnected. Where would those go on that switch connection? A Brown wire is on the top w/ a mix up of wires back to the light still in tact. I am confused. But where would the other light connectors go?

Your wiring may well have been played around with.
3 wires to headlight connector are: high beam feed, low beam feed, earth.

The high and low beam feeds should come from the LH switch, which should get power to it's feed wire when the key is turned for lights. In the schematic I have, there is the wire to the parking light and instrument lighting from the main switch. My schematic is simpler than yours, it is for GT but the switch wiring seems the same as far as I can see.

The connection plate. 76111995 93 in the manual. Don't see it on the schematic...Sf Gt both used Bosch headlamps so they should be the same. (manual shows Gt connection plate dot as applicable to Gt but nothing for Sf) Then the light connector side wires have nothing to do w/ drop key connection plate but come back from the handlebar high low beam switch? Power comes to the top of light connector only from connector plate when drop key is in place & light turned on. Ok seems easy enough...I'll get it right.
Wiring was played w/!!! Anyway there is no connection plate in the scheme??? You just follow the colored wiring around?

I Posted it wrong last response. Power is brown wire from connection plate goes to left on the light connector w/ 2 different wires spliced on the initial brown wire. Is that the only power wire ...light to connection plate? then the others come back from high low beam? Sitting since yr 1989.

Here is a scan of my schematic (hopefully), it might be easier to see what is what with fewer components.
An extremely simple system. Yes, when lights are switched "on", the wire to the LH switch gets power and it directs it to either high or low beam on the bulb. Alternatively it can go to activate a relay for each beam if you want to do that.

Connexion plate is the same on GT, S and SF up to 73 model year.
The "key", known in France as a nail will also switch lights on one side and position light on the other side.

Thanks! Sorry wires are in this arrangement.
Good news is the Rocker Spindles are coming out. Success this morning. I turned white when using extractor several times before. I heard clicks thinking I was stripping threads over the past few wks. & stopped & set the head aside trying to decide what to do.

Nah, stripping threads don't normally click. They strip stealthily.

You're more likely to hear clicks as smooth surfaces slide over each other, like the withdrawal of a tight rocker spindle for example. The movement happens in little increments, each one making an audible sound. Press your finger against a smooth surface and move it very slowly. You'll observe the same effect. It's to do with static vs dynamic friction, and it's how violins make a noise beautiful music.
