Having had a carpenter dad and dabbling more than I wanted in woodwork, I can appreciate the painstaking detail that goes into boat building.
But wood didn't speak to me the way engines and wheels did...

The steelmills closed in Newc back in 1999 as far as I know. Port Kembla and Whyalla still going though.For those not in the know. Thew city of Newcastle in Australia (a bit north of Sydney) is famous for its steel mills. I guess most Australian steel comes from Newcastle. It's colloquially known as Newcastle pine when referring to it as a building material.
