Zane rotor nut

Hi on a Zane Formula with late crank, is the ignition rotor on the end of the crank a left hand thread, struggling to release iyt and worried about snapping the little thing

As it turns anti clockwise I suspect the nut needs to turn in the same direction to undo it.
However probably better asking the question on the Zane list forum.
