I require a Zane sprag clutch for my Atlas has anybody got one for sale or know where I can get one
I have the rest of the gear train, just require the sprag
Is it correct one of the KTM models is the same
Thank you

Can't speak for your Atlas, but the word is that for the Zanès, the KTM sprag works. Coupla testominies I have retained below:

"KTM LC4 640 uses the exact same starter clutch. I can confirm they are interchangeable as I just put a spare one from my Ghoststrike into the KTM and it works a treat. KTM part 58440026000."

"I can confirm that the KTM part number 58440026000 fits perfectly, and has actually improved the starting further, it’s instantaneous now."

HTH.

That part number is for the roller part of sprag, I first need the whole sprag clutch
The KTM complete sprag clutch seems to drive on a key and not spline as Laverda, Atlas does - Zane?

I had to fit more than just the sprag when I fitted the Zane one on my first Atlas. I forget which gear wheel is needed but I think you will find out pretty quickly.
I have got a ‘spare’ but it was intended for the engine I took the sprag out for the Atlas. If you can’t get fixed up elsewhere I could be persuaded to part with it.

The 600 Atlas used a bored out 500 Alpino engine, I believe? So might help if you can use this to identify JUST which bits you reckon you need ...

As first message I have the rest of the Zane gear train (starter motor gear, idle gear and stater clutch gear) just need the sprag
I am building up the old Atlas sprag (starter gear bearings x 2 exploded and spag plunger springs x 4 all broke up) but I want to have option to upgrade to Zane as the plan is for the Atlas to now be my travelling bike (if the world opens up again), my RGA with 225,000 on clock might be a bit to old to climb the Andes (especially dragging a sidecar), Andy if you want to sell your spag I would have it

Else, we hear from sfcpiet that OCT have broken MANY Zane' bikes so they may be the best place to try if looking for a used part else 3CMoto has a large inventory of new parts for the Zane' bikes,

Lots of people have broken Zane bikes. So many broken ones around shortly after they were new.
Alan Bell aka Alan James on here has redistributed quite a few as well.

Sprag clutches are one of the things that let go regularly and remain in high demand, very optimistic naive thinking there'd be any left.

Sure, OCT's got a boneyard of these bikes, but it's always the same bits missing/kaputt. Why doesn't anybody need a cam cover? Or a sidestand? Boxes full of those...
