Zane water cooling system refill

I don't want to make you feel bad, but a german forum fellow also did not listen to me when I told him that it is not a question IF the main bearings go bang, it is a question WHEN.

Hi achieved 34.000km I think which is one of the best results for a 2000 spec formula I have seen so far without the mains giving up. The engine was seriously damaged and he gave up and sold the bike.

So - better be safe than sorry...

Lothar what evidence would there be if any work had been done if any ? I saw a post somewhere about recognising an updated crank but unsure where I would be looking ?  Ben told me he never had a crank go on his race bikes and they must have been under some load ok not for long - I had some shares at the beginning of this virus lark - they have lost so much I am willing to take a risk and ride this one - it?s not going to get some much use as I have 4 others

Thanks for the replies chaps Andy J I will take you up on the offer of a different chip once this lockdown has eased, is the fuel sensor easy to replace?
Kermit, Ged has had his hands on the Formula. I cant describe how it feels its almost if when you roll off it feels like its flat on acceleration then picks up and takes off. It would be good for some one who has ridden them for a while to ride mine and give their opinion

No worries Terry, I?m sure we can sort something out. As for the fuel sensor, I have never changed one, but I guess it?s fairly straight forward as you can access it quite easily when you remove the seat pad/air box cover.

Fuel sensor is straightforward seat off and unscrew it - but the connection is soldered - I couldn?t work out why mine didn?t come on as there seemed to be bugger all fuel in it - but I checked the bulb at the clocks first  - you can get to it with the fairing on just and then checked the that the float moved on the sensor - put it back together and the light cane on at the end of my road when I hauled the brakes on - not sure anything was wrong with it just the fuel wasn?t  low enough

Don?t confuse what you have with one of Ben?s racebikes....  it?s  nothing like it...

Very true !  But it does give me some hope that on a limited mileage with the right items in place it might last a bit longer - having done 19 k it?s not clear whether my engine has had any work on it
