Club Laverda NSW Canowindra weekend 24/25 april

Club Laverda NSW Weekend trip to Canowindra this Saturday. Just to confirm Bells Line of Rd is now reopened, so there are no changes to our trip. Meet 8.15am for an 8.30 departure from the BP servo st North Richmond. Even if your not coming all the way, why not join us for brekky at Lithgow!

Looks like the road from oberon through hampton is closed in both directions, will check later in the week to see if its still closed, but alternate route will be crookwell to goulburn, then marulan, and the back way to bundanoon.

How bad is Wombyan Caves road? Is it passable on a Laverda? Where the best place to check?

Thats funny, I just posted on another forum 20 minutes ago that Wombeyan Caves Rd was the first trip I did in the GQ Patrol shorty I owned and that it was not fun being a bunch of 35kph and slower downhill off cambered corrugated to hell dirt. No washaways when I did it.The back way to Oberon from there through Lime Kiln is also dirt with lots of water bars, eg one metre high mounds to shed water to stop erosion. Fun to jump on a dirtbike.

Doable on a dirtbike, but don't roll it. It needs to be jumped off with both wheels level. Not so much Laverda stuff. Looks a lot like the trails behind Narrabeen Fitness Camp or as the locals say Red Hill. 600mm rock steps everywhere.

So yesterday I decided that as still fairly sore and stiff from my lets say adventure last Saturday would be better to get on the bike and do miles rather than faff about strating and stopping a number of times to get basically up the road. Decided to ride down and meet up with the Southern Nsw/ACT contingent.. Met up with them at Crookwell after a great trip via Taralga and Laggan whilst on the bike am kind of Ok its getting on and off that is a bit of a worry.
As the Silver Jota how has its frame nicely repaired by a pro welder ( thanks again Paul for arranging that ) it was ready for it to get out and about again and mix it up with all that Orange.
we met the others at Newbridge including Chris who joined us on yet another Orange Laverda and after a bit of lunch and some discussion about various pain killers and such for all us elderly we had a nice brisk run to get fuel and then onto Canowindra ...Steve took off on that road on the injected 120 good to see it was getting its legs stretched
When we pulled up in town outside of the pub there was a black and gold Jota and then i the car park was a nice Red RGS... at 1297 it was an early girl but only with 29K miles on it. Turns out the owner of that is a local ... we soon worked out that the black and gold Jota was Richard from down south..
A good night by all was had at the pub with some folk kicking on till the wee small hours I hear.... we are under strict instrunctions but from the run organiser to ensure that we are ready for breakfast at 8am sharp... trouble is he was one of the loud ones up after midnight keeping the rest of us awake.

Then this morning nearly got gassed as some of the genius’s decided to turn well let’s rephrase that shall we to tried to turn on the outdoor heaters but that ended in disaster at least if no one lights a match for the next hour we should be good.

Some more from this morning seems not everything is as it seems which is a dam shame but would appear that someone who shall remain nameless but who wears a poof jacket and perhaps a shirt which may suggest to do one thing actually does the opposite hmm but we have the money shot
