Are they plastic or still made of bakelite? I see people converting to the modern coil on plug systems on older bikes, not sure how they will go on my SF though, stuck out the side.

Same here Greg - this reply back from Sparkplugs.co.uk today re XB05F -There's always the possibility it's temporary and will sort itself out once the world is largely over Covid and the odd shortages it's brought.
Repco here still have a huge amount of NGK plugs on backorder.
Of course it does... you'll find out what when you stand at the counter and need to pay for new ones.Bakelite is plastic. It's just a trade name like Nylon or Teflon.
I was sorely tempted to convert the coil over plug system on my Benneli Tre to remote coils and leads a while back when it was giving trouble, but I managed sort it. As far as I can work out, the coil on plug system doesn't have much going for it.
Been there, done that (not at a counter but on line). The coils were bloody expensive.Of course it does... you'll find out what when you stand at the counter and need to pay for new ones.![]()
no, just getting stock on an island that almost has nothing when you need it, these cover new plug caps for my projects that are all under way, 2 x 750's and a 1000 and 1200, so it just covers my needs. Better to have what you want/ need, when you need it than notIs this what panic buying is?

Just received a set for my RGS and a set for my SF2 from Louis.de. Must have been the last ones, sorry.Hi guys,
Louis in Germany seems to be out of stock. Just ordered 6 for 4€ each at Polo. That they are quite cheap is in my opinion not a god sign...
Thanks to Red for Information. So if someone has trouble getting them in future we may help each other.
Cheers and Peace
are they 5ohm caps?I simply assumed that a highly reputable dealer like Ian Gowanloch would not be selling dud copies - but the price was very low and they don't have the recessed NGK logo in white, just recessed no colour. I'll try them in a motor and find out soon enough.
Thanks for the tip, Red. I'll check today. Coming from Gowanlochs they'd be suitable for a bevel and that would surely have the sam spec as an old Lav?are they 5ohm caps?
you can measure that by using a Multimeter probe on each end of the cap, should come up with a reading between 4.5-5.0 ohms
Did you buy from Ian G or from Gowanloch Ducati? I'm pretty sure Ian has nothing to do with Gowanloch Ducati any more. Although I don't think either of them would want to be associated with dodgy parts. I suppose it's possible that some might have inadvertently slipped through.I simply assumed that a highly reputable dealer like Ian Gowanloch would not be selling dud copies
