Cool Videos

I had an XLX 1000 sportster ( like that but with flat bars and triple discs) I bought to see what all the Harley thing was all about. I rode it to work everyday, all weather for a year and to be honest it wasn’t particularly good at anything. I gave it a fair crack of the whip to see if it would grow on me..it didn’t. To each his own as they say.
I remember a road test from the era, complained that even with it's awesome good looks, you couldn't pick up chicks because of the single seat...

Thankfully Eric Buell came along and waved his wand.

“The only reason they don’t fly lower, is that they don’t have flush rivets!”

I was lucky enough to be at West Malling for an Air Show, back in the late '80s IIRC, a Vulcan was flying low passes down the runway. Can't say he was as low as Hanna in the Spitfire but he had re-heat (afterburner) on and the flames were touching the tarmac.
Sadly, I've never been able to find footage of it, but it's the only thing I've ever heard/felt that sounded better than a 180° Triple on full chat.

.......... It`s orange , and it`s quick ........ but it`s not a Jota ... ( or even a KTM ) ............. Drivers expression when flooring it is quite amusing .

Quite old , not sure if I`ve put this up before ..... but still good fun .

I saw a Bond Bug ,covered up ,in the back of a garage whilst picking up a Guzzi, I asked the Guy if he ever sold it give me first shout….he called my bluff and I ended up buying the bloody thing. I gave it to my Wife as a surprise present …” I’m not driving that F# cking thing,”
I thought she’d love it🙄

One of the ex-Honda Rally races who won the Oz Safary multiple times after racing bikes built an off-road tiny buggy with a Busa motor in it. I just googled it, couldn't find his but there everywhere. Very common thing now.

They should have made a four wheel version ......... that would have been quite neat .........

If I recall , parent company Reliant made a four wheel version of the Robin which they called the Kitten ........ :D ..................

You could drive these things on a motorcycle licence ....... so the Bug was quite an astute attempt to divert your average younger rider away from two wheels ........ as with you , by the sound of it , I always thought they looked great .

When some American took the world land speed record with a jet powered three wheeler at god knows how many hundreds of miles per hour , he received a message from Reliant in Tamworth congratulating him on his choice of a three wheeled layout , explaining that just like him , they also had much success over the years with a similar layout used on their 65 mph Regals , Robins , and Supervans .............

Steve (?) from Punters garage in Hayes built a V6 Ford Reliant chassis 1/4 mile sprinter because the 3 wheel record was so low. My mate Goddard scrutineered it, built over a weekend out of scrap😳 think it only did a couple of runs, mostly out of control but got the record.
Bug had a different chassis to Robin but still rotted like a bastard. Quasar had same motor, probably a better use for it.

There was a story about Malcolm Newell , creator of the Quasar , having a big off when coming down the hill on the A4 approaching Marlborough from Hungerford direction ........... which ended with bits of Quasar having to be retrieved from the tops of the trees lining the road .........

Someone down in EnnZedd has built this replica ...... just based on drawings and photographs .............. Uses a Honda VFR 500 engine in this case it seems , rather than the Reliant in the original versions .

According to one of the comments ..... both Robert Plant and John Bonham of Led Zeppelin had one each .

If Malcolm was still around , I get the feeling he would be building them with `busa engines in them , as well .......

Fark me, what rider!! No traction control or fancy tronics - just absolutely ride the wheels off it!! No idea who's red SF that is ... keen bit o' bike spotting!

Plenty of these around , but this has to be one of the best crafted and produced ........... " No AI " , they proudly boast ..........

People now sharing the planet with creatures who will eventually hunt them down , and finish them all off ......... but just accepting that , and continuing with their everyday lives the best they can ......

If you think Paris seems in a bad way , you should take a look at Birmingham at the moment ........... and that`s just striking bin-men ...........
