Finally ! Getting around to fitting my Jota fairing but I need details/photos of exactly how the turn signals
mount and are secured in the fairing. I would absolutely like to duplicate the factory method. Thanks

Hi Greg,

Great choice of fairing which gets the thumbs up from me, although many prefer the "Naked" look I absolutely love it.

Regarding the indicator mounting I can only show you how mine are fitted which is how the bike came to me,you will find that they are not exactly a precision fit but with a bit of care and attention to detail you will soon have them fitting securely and looking the part.

Pure 80's styling I originally thought they were caravan indicators but after a bit of research found out they were from an Autobianchi A112, anorak stuff but nice to know I guess.

Anyway here's some photos showing the "clip nut" arrangement which the Indicator body and lense secures to,hope this helps?

Sorry to mention this, but your fairing is upside down.
Paul

It might actually prevent a speed wobble. The 1980 fairing’s lower wings cause lift at high speed, which lead to instability issues. That’s why a new (rather ugly) fairing was designed for 1981.

Not rather ugly. (orrid!)
They're now a collector, so many have been thrown out.

The Autobianchi thing is the level of anorak that I love and practiced during the years I worked at Land Rover

Interesting comments on the 80’s lift issues. Something I’d never really thought about. The butt ugly ones are function over form then?

If ever myself or Steve (Schurminater) attained a lift inducing velocity we would very likely have ridden over a cliff. We are not the quickest on two wheels.

81 fairings actually look like they work, and i believe from reports that they do. Certainly not butt ugly. Nuff said.
🤔 Given the amount of earlier triples and twins we see with replica 81-82 fairings retrofitted, I think you’re onto something…..

Taste is very much taste dependent.

They're beautiful compared to that butt ugly TS fairing.
I kinda like the 81 fairings
The TS and 30th ugly ones are interesting.

🤔 Perhaps Laverda were looking to grow the Yankee market, remembering this was around the time when Yanks were fitting those butt ugly Windjammer fairings to almost anything that had two wheels?
