Anyone interested in pooling $ to start an electric tank manufacturing plant.

Think of the benefits,
Saftey: No tank fighting during recharging periods = life longevity
Convince: You can have a smoke while refueling = operator friendly
Pollution Control: No diesel fume emissions

Russian tanks got stranded in Ukraine during the first months of invasion due to lack of diesel. I remember well when a farmer pulled a stranded tank off his ground with the crew running behind him asking him to stop... (and that was no AI video...).

There are more power supplies available than households with a gas station. As long as electricity is available, you could make that thing run, even if it would take loooooong to recharge.

To me though, the best tanks are the ones that are not used. ;)

Most likely, they'd want to revise the existing range, at least over here where the gvmnt likes to spend money on anything not useful.

Back in the mid 90s I was tasked with creating an exhaust for the Scorpion FV101 light tank. These were still running Jaguar 4.2 petrol motors and the crews were understandably jittery about that.

Ingoing, was a new Cummins diesel motor.

Not sure why people still want to air untrue information. A combustion-chamber engine driven car is up to 60 times more likely to catch fire than a BEV. Why are you not sending around 60 pics of burning standard engine cars?

We make ourselves a propaganda slave of the lobbyists that want to keep the standard engine as they have money in the petrol industry if we spread these false information, even if they are covert in "funny" pictures.

What seems to be funny isn't really. It is about manipulating us so we keep supporting the petrol industry to get richer. This is very short term thinking, really...

Wouldn't worry Lothar, business hijacked the green "industry" years ago............(Edit - I won't say anymore....)

Blimey Lothar it's only a joke mate !

No, it's not, sorry. You think it is, but this is frequently used (still!) to discredit BEV's. To many people don't take it as a joke and do believe they burn more often than petrol/diesel driven cars. I have this almost on a daily base when it comes to someone "arguing" against BEV's. There is to much BS and to less real knowledge in this discussion.

The reason to use false information range from missing better knowledge over using "arguments" to justify why one still hangs onto a 7 Liter V8 (which is mainly an emotional thing like the sound, as in every other regards, BEV's are FAR better) to using fals claims with intention as one benefits from it (like Lobbyists etc.), which is not what I am implying on anyone here. That leaves us with defending the own position with wrong claims or missing better knowledge, which (the later) I assume is the most common reason. And that is intentionally so, driven by the petroleum and the car industry. The first one as they fear to lose 70% of their business over time and the later as they innitially did not want to invest into a complete new to them technology and now because they have been already bypassed by the growing number of asian vendors.

The problem for Volkswagen, Mercedes, Opel, Ford etc. is, that the main part of the value chain (and one of the key differentiators, the engine) is not happening within their factory anymore. They have to rely on others for batteries and electric engines. THIS is the reason why the traditional brands have a real issue with the BEV competition....

So - please think twice when using this. At the end you might find it funny, but you are supporting the petrol and car industries dirty agenda.

It was the same with the mud Trump threw against Biden, which results now in the fashistic regime in USA. It is the same with fals claims of the CDU/CSU during the election about the politics of the last government in Germany. Once we spread their poison just because we think its funny, we are preparing their way into the wrong direction.

Just give it a though, please. You may still disagree with me, but I hopefully made you think at least. It's not your fault, I ran into that trapp several times, too. I just don't want that anymore, please, as I see the results.

When we got our BEV over 4 years ago I was constantly challenged by people who believed the BS out there - they catch fire, they cause car parks to collapse, they cause pot holes, the batteries won’t last, they eat tyres were the common ones. I gave up trying to get people to read facts rather than opinion, it’s the world we live in these days. Unfortunately it assists things like US administrations denying the science.

Have a read about the Esso Atlantic and Exxon’s research in 79-82 into whether the oceans could absorb all the CO2 society is pumping out. In summary, the research warned that preventing catastrophic global warming would require major reductions in fossil fuel combustion. Recent research has shown that the Exxons predictions of the day have proven breathtakingly accurate, which from a scientific perspective is reassuring (our science is good), but from a human perspective is not so good - things are going to get worse for a lot of people.

So, ignore it all and just ride your Laverda until the tarmac all melts. Don’t look up ;)

Lothar you are obviously a very deep thinker and a very deep and serious person and no doubt the world needs people like you. I on the other hand am a happily shallow person who does not take life too seriously and looks for the humour in almost any situation. My main worry at the moment is whether West Bromwich Albion will ever get back to the premier league ( unlikely ).
I really couldn't give a fat rats arse if people want to drive electric or stick with 6 litre V12's .
You ask why instead of the burning Tesla I did not post 60 pictures of burning ICE cars, well because I think if the boy was to be seen crying over a burning ICE Mini the reaction would be one of confusion not laughter. It really was just a joke, not to be taken seriously except possibly by very serious people.
Anyway Happy Christmas and keep smiling.

Never recharge your e-bike in the hallway .... and maybe think twice about recharging your EV in your garage , especially if it forms part of the house ........

Eight times LESS likely to catch fire than an ICE ........ but Li-ion ignites with incredible ferocity , and is extremely difficult to extinguish when it does .........

At least out on the road , with a bike you`re much less likely to be trapped inside a burning vehicle , as a result of say , a collision ..........

So ........ as far as I`m concerned , for the moment , on balance , all things considered .............. No ................

Fwiw I don't have any issue with anyone believing in electric cars, net zero, narrower roads to please the cyclist lobbiests or petrol engines. Its supposed to be a democratic society we are mostly living in and that means accepting that others arrive at their choices via life experiences, emotive thinking, logic or whatever.

I do have an issue with people telling me what I should support because of their own rationale. Politicians that is.

I've spent years fixing other people's stuff, be it vehicles or houses and the most common decision is is to replace. Its so common with vehicles I've got used to repeating the excuses before people make them.

No one needs a new car but most people justify why they do. Its a free world but when folks tell me that they're supporting net zero or going green by buying a new car, ( often replacing it in 3 years time with more justification) this is not green or caring about the planet. Its vanity.

My dad had 3 new cars between 69-2024
I've had the same van for 11 years, now 16 years old which I might replace with a 3 Yr old.

No one buying new electric vehicles and replacing them every 3rd year is any greener than that unless you're clocking up 400,000 miles on your ev.

I don't doubt the oil companies are on a good screw, as are governments, councils, air source heating suppliers, solar installers and most big corporations.

So long as people want new stuff and convenience, endless children, disposable nappies, new cars, there's nothing green, it's just a fallacy to ease the conscience whilst ploughing on with a comfortable lifestyle.

Corporate investment and the anticipated returns isn`t just limited to the oil / petrol / car industry ........... The same interests drive investment in " green " projects ........

Does anyone really believe that the quest for large profits and shareholder dividends exists exclusively within the petrol / fossil fuel industry , and that green industry is immune from it ?

Of course not ......... Large corporate investment is what drives the Green movement .......... where else is the initial capital and investment in the necessary infastructure going to come from ?

A monstrous 500 MW twenty square mile solar farm planned for West Wiltshire is being backed by an Australian investment corporation ... ( Macquarie ) .

Are they doing this out of the goodness of their hearts , crying big salty tears of concern regarding the future of the planet ........... ? ..........

Are they bollocks .......... the only concerns they have is Greed , not Green .........

The real problem lies with over population ........ too many people on this planet exploiting and consuming natural resources ....... each person aspiring to a lifestyle which will consume and pollute .........

The population of the continent of Africa is set to double over the next thirty years .......

Not much point worrying about the clearing of tropical rainforests and loss of natural habitat there then ..... people need space to live and grow crops and graze their cattle after all .......... never mind the land needed to grow eco friendly crops for ethanol ........ so sod the rainforest .............

I reckon we`re actually fortunate to be living through a period of global warming ........... just wait till the next Ice Age comes around ........ ( which it will ) ..........

When you consider the canyons and mountains we see today were formed by the giant glaciers of the past , then that really WILL be the end of mankind ..... no one is going to survive that ....... A period of global warming will be looked back upon as a walk in the park in comparison ..............

Happy New Year ......... :) .................

BTW ........ There is a train of thought that the planet has been through all this before ...........

A lifeform develops and evolves ....... reaches a level of intelligence and advancement quite possibly similar to ours ....... over exploits and trashes the planet and eventually self destructs / catches the plague / is wiped out by a meteorite strike ..........

......... then the whole process starts over again .......... Over the course of a few million years the planet recovers ........ new vegetation is formed ....... new lifeforms develop , and the whole cycle begins all over again .......

Some reckon we are now into the fourth of fifth recurring episode of this happening .......

So there you go ...... maybe the outlook isn`t so bleak after all .......................
