SFC 750 fairing screen

Did you manage to find a track fairing, Rob. Offer a mine gratis still stands if you can suggest a courier company and cover the freight.

Screens for bikes is just up the road from me. He's retired but just had him make three '81 Jota screens and one for my ZXR - they were $150 ea cash and I picked them up. If I give him the SFC fairing he can probably match it with a screen, but not sure if all the various SFC fairings all take the same screen.

I've sent you a PM Q.
As for a screen I'll wait till Red lets me know of a supplier in NSW to contact.
If I could find a screen that's oversize I'd use my original as a pattern for the shape.
Worst comes to worst I could make some. Vacuum pumps are pretty cheap these days.
Between my mate and I I'd be looking at 4 screens.
Have previously brought a screen for the Motodd fairing from Screens for Bikes.

Hand-crafted fibreglass in Blacktown. I have got both my Pantha and Bevel screen from them. They do fantastic work. When I picked both up, the bloke spent a good 30 minutes buffing and polishing both while I watched. They form them from their own bucks to suit. They do, from memory, clear and a couple of shades plus a bunch of colours if you're that inclined. I guess they ship; packing might not be fun. https://handcraftfibreglass.com.au/

They're usually blown in pairs. Cut an oval shape in a piece of plywood that suits the base shape. Heat the acrylic sheet till floppy, clamp the plywood shape over the top of the floppy acrylic laying on another sheet of ply with an air fitting and then add compressed air till the desired height if achieved.
Or, I'm thinking of making a female mould of the original screen with plaster and fibreglass and using a vacuum pump to pull the floppy sheet into the mould. First option is probably better and a lot less work.
The actual cost of buying a screen these days isn't too bad but the cost of shipping is getting ridicules for larger packages.
Somehow I can see myself having to make them. Between my mate and me we need 4 screens.

I'd heard they'd closed up shop. I'll check if they're still in business. Waiting for a price from Sydney. It's not so much the cost of the screens it's the cost of shipping from the east coast that'll be the deciding factor. Still thinking of making my own, but that still involves a 900km round trip to Perth to buy sheets of acrylic. Price one pays for living in paradise

Hi Rob - I am after a screen as well for my Replica
If you are going to get some made could you please order one for me as well.
Cheers Adam

Hi Adam
I see your from Qld.
Im waiting for a quote from the above company for 4 screens plus shipping.
They do have a pattern for the sfc screen. Given i'm in regional WA the cost of getting them here could make them an expensive item so shipping cost could be the deciding factor wether I place the order or make my own. If I do end up making my own sending one to Qld will probably make it expensive. Cost of sending largish boxes is now getting ridiculous often costing more than the cost of the item.
My advise would be to contact them directly. An order of 5 screens may give us a better price. Wait till I hear back from them and we can go from there.

We have a truck going to Perth from Brisbane in the next few weeks. A case of beer for the driver may be all it costs

The 2 screens I bought were approx $170 each, but that was at least 5 years ago. I just remembered I also got a Suzuki screen for my Atas that was 150mm taller than the std Atlas one. They really helpfully bunch.

I sent an email to Handcraft fibreglass asking about SFC screens. They got back to me pretty quick saying they have a template for them and asking what colour I'd like, and would be in touch regarding price and shipping cost. I responded that they be clear. That was the last I've heard from them even after a couple of follow up emails. Would have thought an order of 5 screens, 1 for you Adam would be worth the effort.
So now looking for another supplier. I can somehow see myself having to make them which I'm not that keen on doing as I have enough on my plate to have to deal with that.
Eagle Screens in Perth also haven't answered my email, was told they're no longer in business even though they still have a website so not sure whats going on there.
I also ordered a screen for a 916 Ducati fairing from china that arrived yesterday. The quality is fantastic but it had another raised section on top of the bubble that makes it slightly higher that I don't like. But for 30oz dollars delivered it's great value.
Still on the lookout for the SFC screen.

Just got an email back from Eagle Screens. They no longer do bubble screens as in 70s Ducati Super Sports and the like.
It's looking like I'm Gunna have to make some!! Bugger

In the USA, Gustafason was the man. Well, as so many of us did, he retired and sold his shop to the highest bidder or ???. Anyway, the new owner lists screens for almost every bike ever made, courtesy of Gustafsson's hard work; at least we can give thanks to those who continue to support obsolete bikes (dreams). Shipping is the real killer, the result of COVID-19, FFS.
COVID-19 went away, but high shipping costs did not.
