Marzocchi Stradas

At the end of the day unless you are going to be racing around a track they are going to be perfect for our pot holed 20mph limit god forbidden highways!..........and it's your bike so you can certainly have it anyway you like (y)
So enjoy the refurb experience for all its worth and refit with pride....😎
It's the crap roads that are the problem - the last Laverda I rode with Stradas on it I honestly couldn't see properly because my eyeballs were jiggling in my head!!!

I had a pair fitted on my RD250 back the day (1982 to be precise) and they were far better than the standard Yamaha shock absorbers, but back then, anything was far better than the standard shocks on a Japanese bike.

I found the rear end wallow atrocious, I was relieved when one of them dropped its guts. I replaced them with nitrons. They were such a difference that I could feel how bloody awful the front end was. So Sports Valves followed. Now I have a bike that goes where I point it, as long as I tell it where I’m going in advance 🤣
Still got the old zochi’s, they’re only holding a shelf down in my shed so if you want them they’re yours for the asking. That particular shelf can be kept in place by a Bosch ignition that’s been callously kicked under a bench 🤣

Shocks fully apart, both bladders seem intact with no holes etc but one definitely lost air. Poor sealing to shock body? Love em or hate em, im servicing and positively discriminating once done.
Any insight appreciated, cheers Ian

I fitted Nitrons to the SFQ - they're so good I think I set them to default and may have softened one click on all 3 damping adjustments. Set and forget - the rear just behaves perfectly. OW01 Kayaba USDs meant no dramas whatsoever up front - again, softened a click or two from default and they are just brill. And I get to exploit the qualities of modern 17 inch rubber to the full! :D

If 'Marzocchi Strada' is your passion, and it sounds like it is, why not buy some shocks that actually work and look like the Stradas and apply 'Marzocchi Strada' stickers on your newly purchased shocks? The stickers are readily available .

But if you’re going to shell out for Ollins, keep the stickers on them…. more street cred than Ollins with Marzo stickers on them 😉

I really wanted them to work; they look pretty high-tech. Even with money and a suspension pro doing the refurb, there's still crap.
